We had our roof replaced this 6/2023. Mr. Bosley came out and gave us our estimated, we signed a contract. He was recommended because he was a former Marine, and worked with veteran families. We put down the money requested but were advised additional things maybe found and a supplement filed. Ok, no problem. Unknown to us, Mr. Bosley wrote for the whole insurance claim including windows, paint, other repairs (even though they were being done by another contractor he was recommended to us by) this according to our insurance was told to us after the fact. Roof was done, and done well. The crew was nice, courteous and professional. But when the final bill was requested, there were additional funds added at $4759 and our deposit was left off. When the correct bill was requested, the deposit was added, but there was no explanation for the additional charges. Two additional request were made by us for the break-down of the additional charges. Finally, we got the break-down for the additional charges when the insurance requested them. Insurance found we were double charged for the removal of the roof materials, and upgraded from a 3-Tab to a laminate roof, NOT required in Colorado. (The insurance did a second review of the charges to verify the upgrade, and it was not required.) The insurance did pay for a few of the addition things, but we were still out of pocket for the almost $4000. We had paid the bill, not knowing the supplement was not going to be covered. Our fault, we have never had to replace a roof or deal with insurance before, but we are honorable people who pay our bills. Despite a conversation with Mr. Bosley, we were NEVER refunded for the double charge of removal of material. Mr. Bosely's advised us to get an attorney if we did not like the outcome from the insurance, and we should consider suing the insurance. Our insurance advised us Mr. Bosley was very aggressive and rude when talking to them about why he upgraded the roofing material. Mr. Bosely even called us to tell us he was very rude with them. Use your own judgement, it all seems to be nothing but shady, and we feel preyed upon, especially when claiming to be veteran friendly business. Mr. Bosley showed up proudly wearing the Marine Corps emblem around his neck, even pointing it out at the sale appointment... my husband is a combat decorated Marine who served with honor and was decorated...this whole thing has felt like a slap in the face. So beware....

Read moreLike many other homes in Metro Denver my home suffered significant hail damage during 2023. There were a number of “sales types” who came by with all sorts of offers and promises about repairing/replacing my roof.
Steve Dye from Interstate was different. Steve talked about the overall process from dealing with my insurance company including their: inspection, initial report, definitions of RCV and ACV (replacement and actual cost value), additional damage discovered during the work and meeting current building code requirements. He showed me a number of different roofing shingles and help me select the appropriate one (not the most expensive) to meet my needs. Steve also recommended patience on my part as the insurance company’s Que can be frustrating.
This was my first major homeowner claim in over 40 years of owning homes. One of the unexpected values Steve and Interstate brought to the project was the willingness to be my interface to my insurance company. While I was copied on all communications, Steve made a number of submittals to the insurance company explaining where their inspectors miss some items, provided updated code requirements and responded to all of their questions/concerns.
As to the actual replacement of my roof, Interstate was professional. They told me in advance what to expect. Their performance including a project time line, covering the ground around my home with tarps to retain nails and roofing material and full cleanup (including using a magnetic roller to pick up stray nails) after the roof was installed. There was some additional needed repairs discovered during the work requiring another insurance coverage request. The insurance company initially rejected this claim. Steve provided more data/information to them and we reached an appropriate settlement on this final coverage request.
While I hope to never have to replace another roof, if I do, my first and only call with be to Interstate Roofing...
