Called in and arranged to drop off my boat for a diagnostic. Dropped off the boat on Monday before 4th of July and met Jim (owner) who said he would be able to look at it late that week (Friday) or first think next week (Monday). Called Friday for an update and they didn't get a chance to look at it, claiming that the heat wave and the holiday set them back on their schedule.. No big deal, after all, they had promised to look at it first thing next week the latest. Called several times on Monday where the I was promised a call back with an update since the receptionist did not know the status of the service. Finally they put me on hold and few minutes later tried to tell me that they were 2-3 weeks out from being able to look at it, once again claiming that the heat wave and the holiday set them back on their schedule.. I asked the receptionist to double check with Jim (owner) since he had mentioned that they were going to be able to look at it first think that week.. Jim gets on the phone and says that he would be about a week out to be able to look at it and potentially another week out for the needed repair (depending what was wrong with it). I reminded that he had mentioned he would be able to look at it either Friday or Monday.. he also claimed that the heat wave and the holiday delayed their work.. I mentioned that I was not willing to wait 3 weeks to get my boat back and that if he had told me that time frame to begin with I would not have left my boat there and would have found someone else to help me.. I mentioned that if he wasn't able to look at it the next day (Tuesday) that I would probably just pick up the boat by the end of Tuesday.. At that time, Jim became very rude stating that I am more than welcome to pick up the boat and take it somewhere else.. Stating that he had plenty of work and that he didn't need to look at it (didn't need the business). After that great display of Excellent Customer Service and People Skills, I went ahead and picked up my boat that exact moment on Monday evening. Thanks for wasting a week of my boating season.. Wish you the best of luck with the business as well as the heat waves (and holidays) because with that customer service and people skills, you are going to need it. Needless to say, I DO NOT RECOMMEND JJ Marine to anyone!!! Save the headache and your time and take your boat...

Contacted J & J for a very good friend of mine. Who was in need of some serious “TLC” for his Maxum. This was after the few nights of extremely high winds, which caused a lot of costly cosmetic issues with his baby (his boat)! Now all that being said, the ins co informed us to get an estimate or two from reputable companies and we will go from there. Since my boyfriend and I own and operate a small business, we of course wanted to be in full support of our local business owners!!! To my utter amazement and complete dismay I was informed that due to the pics they have seen it looks as though the boat is totaled! The only major damage was part of the windshield-but I suppose in my state of shock with what I’m being told by the woman OTP I said ok to her denial of services to us as potential customers. As the “shock” 😂 wore off that didn’t settle well with me. I contacted J & J back and spoke again with the above mentioned woman asking if I needed to pay for an estimate in case they thought we weren’t going to get the work done with them. She says “NO, Jimmy just doesn’t want to be involved with that .” ME- I’m sorry, what situation? We are offering to pay you to come and give an estimate even though your website states you offer that service for free?? So you are denying me service of any kind bc this is an ins claim??? WOMAN- “You would need to submit a claim, then the ins co will let us know what needs to be done.” ME- (being in complete AWE of the incorrect info this woman is trying to feed me) I explain to her that we have already spoken to the ins co, in fact they are the ones who informed us to contact reputable businesses to perform estimates giving them the exact knowledge and pricing of the damages to the BOAT!! I asked one final question which was “is Jimmy the owner?” -verified that he is, I thanked her and him for turning down their local Potential Patrons! This obviously brought our conversation to an immediate end as I was hung up on...

Had my 19' boat taken there to get trailer bearings done. Was quoted 125 an hr and would be done in hour. Ok. I needed one of my trim cylinders done so i ordered complete set of hardware to replace and port side trim was quoted 2 extra hours. 3 hours tops. Ok. Im in florida and was taking boat down and needed boat and trailer ready for trip. Picked up boat following week came up from florida. Boat was delivered to me 24 hrs after pick up in florida and hydraulic fluid was leaking having. The transporter to constantly prop up drive. Not only that but they he never installed my new hardware kit to do a clean thorough job. I paid 200 for hardware kit and anodes, another 200 for the trim, and another almost 600 bucks for labor when he quoted 375. I was expecting no issues. Called Jim and he had audacity to tell me to "fix it". So why did i pay for him to do???? Steal my new parts, say he installed new bearings when he just lubed, miss installed trim e-clips, installed new parts incorrectly and rip me off for a poor job. Do your self a favor stay away. I cant do anything now as im in florida but if was atill was in NJ would have opened a small claims court case so he would learn to run a clean honest business. His filthy shop should have been a red flag. In respimse to there defense ,i purchased an entire staimeless hydraulic kit with bushings which they did replace. In pictures shows they are new lines and eclips with missing trim buahings. It takes for both trims to be remove to install a hardware with rods like the one i purchased.....theres a reason why ao many megative...
