I purchased a Chevy Silverado 1500 Crew Cab at C. Haper East on 8.24.2024. Our salesman, Josiah, was great and helped as much as he possibly could but the condition of the Truck, not so much. This truck was advertised at 24,940 miles. When I bought it, the miles were a little over 28,000. This was a lease vehicle and then a demo driven by the manager. It was also GMC Certified. I don't know what goes into a GMC certification, but the oil was at 55% and the front brakes at 52.1%. The paperwork stated the oil and filter were replaced. I was promised 2 free oil changes, we will see if that will be honored when the time comes. The truck was never detailed, the truck has scuff marks that I am sure could have been buffed out, there was/is a stain on the back seat which should have been taken care of before selling the truck, and the tailgate protector cap was all chopped up, this should have been replaced before selling the truck. There was dog/cat hair all over the inside of the truck and also there are scratch marks on the dash and by the door, I am guessing made by the dog/cat. I purchased the Resistall package and was told when I come in to have that applied they will detail the truck. The truck was not completely detailed (the engine compartment was never done), I was promised 2 free details. We will see if that is honored, when the time comes. I am not absolutely convinced the Resistall was applied. The car l traded in was ceramic coated and it gleamed, the truck didn't even shine after the Resistall. None of the scuff marks were buffed out prior to applying and the stain on the back seat was treated with the fabric protection. If the stain on the seat couldn't be removed while being detailed, the fabric/seat should have been replaced. I get it, it is a used vehicle but the car I traded in was bought at C. Harper Bell Vernon used and it did not look like a used car when I bought it. That is why I went back to C. Harper East. The car I traded in was cleaner than the truck I bought. Needless to say the experience was not the same and the condition of the truck was less than subpar. What happened to...
Read moreI bought my truck from C Harper in Belle Vernon, but the C Harper in New Alexandria is closer to me, so I took my truck there to get inspected since it is free. They did not pass my truck because it needed brakes, and they also said they couldn't inspect it because the rotors were rusty. I asked him how much it would cost for them to fix it, and it was almost $600. I never heard of a vehicle not passing inspection because of rusty rotors, so I looked it up on the PA website regarding car inspections. It stated that rotors often get rusty from sitting around, which my truck does sit a lot because I work from home. It also stated that rusty rotors are not a reason to fail inspection unless the truck does not stop where intended. I dropped my truck off the night before, so I had to fill out a slip indicating the mileage on my truck. They never even drove the truck to assess the ability to stop because the mileage was still the same. There was no obvious indication when I drove my truck that the brakes and rotors were not functioning correctly. I declined to get my truck fixed there and had my husband put on the brakes and rotors. The brakes were slightly worn, so I understand that aspect and the rotors were rusty but did not prevent the truck from stopping at the intended destination. The quote they gave me for repairs was extraordinarily high. I feel like they were trying to take advantage of me because of being a woman. Will take my truck to get serviced in Belle Vernon even though it is pretty far for me and will not be returning to the new...
Read moreMy truck's service visit included a tire rotation, oil/filter change and state inspection. I like the online app't scheduling on your website and as always everyone I dealt with in the service dep't was very friendly and I appreciate that. I'd be remiss if I didn't point out the irritants I had during my experience. My truck passed inspection in July '15 when I bought it from your dealership; now, one year later (I put less than 3,000 mi. on it) all four rotors failed (cited delamination and grooved)! I also had to go back to the service counter to have them retrieve my two missing valve stem caps and the oil life was not reset (not a big deal, but I'm glad I checked and reset it myself). I took my truck home and checked/mic'd the rotors myself and they should not have failed, they were all within spec. There was no sign of delam after I knocked the pack rust off. The min thickness on the fronts = 1.516", the worst I had = 1.572". The min thickness on the rears = 1.279", the worst I had = 1.340". The max allowable score/groove depth as per Pub 45 = 0.015", the worst I had = 0.006". I had intentions of bringing the rotors down and having the tech show me why they failed, but to be honest I just didn't have the time. So, I sucked it up and put ~$430 worth of brakes on (which I am not happy about) and brought it down the following week for my sticker. Common sense was to at least let the current pads (which had better then half left) run out, THEN replace the rotors w/ new pads. Please don't let next year be...
