Meadows Original Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Derry Township

Okay, full disclosure - I love custard, I just do. I find it thicker, creamier, and tastier than plain old ice cream or even soft serve. So this review is looking at this from that angle and through that lens...

Now, that being said, this is some darn good custard - as creamy as it should be and as thick as it aught to be - no complaints. After waiting about three years after this place opened, I've now had the pleasure of partaking from what they offer twice in the last week - it has been soo good.

The first time I had their banana custard with Nestle Crunch pieces Swirl and the second time I had their Cotton Candy Artic Swirl (a summertime special). Both were delicious, and those cotton candy pieces in the vanilla custard was supremely delicious. On the second trip, my wife enjoyed their hot fudge sundae with chocolate custard - it was piled high with marshmallow topping, thickened with chocolate sauce, and a big ol'Cherry to top it all off - no complaint from her.

Service is friendly as it is fast - on this holiday Sunday (Juneteenth) the place was packed inside and out and we were in-line, made our order, paid, and had our custard in less than 5-7 mins. Frankly, it was amazing to me how quickly they moved customers through. All this and with two orders that came out looking none to rushed. I was impressed.

RIP OFF!!!!!!! I have always enjoyed Meadows ice cream, but I have noticed that the portions at this particular Meadows are a lot smaller than others I have been to (extremely small compared to others). I felt ripped off, for the amount of money you pay for their product. I do know that I am not the only one that has noticed the difference between this one and the one in Greensburg and Indiana. The franchise needs BETTER PORTION CONTROL!!! Don't recommend this location!!! I encourage you to try the other locations and you'll see what I mean this place is just ripping people off and I mean big time. They're large ice cream cone is a baby cone at all the other Meadows, actually the baby cone at the other Meadows I have been to are really bigger than their large don't take my word for it go check it out!!! NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE AT ALL!!!! Our family always goes here for icecream and we usually go in the drive thru lane.Yesterday my parents and niece came and we decided to eat outside. We had a horrible experience and will not go back again!! I had ordered a cone and just sat down with it and the icecream fell out. I went up to the window to tell them and they were very rude about it. They all looked at me in disguist and the manager handed me a cup with a pitiful amount of icecream in it. My mom handed them 30.00 and they owed her a few dollars back. She told them just to put it toward the extra icecream that fell. They just shut the window and all gathered around. It was obvious they were complaining about the incident. Instead of helping you, they made you feel terrible about it. Very poor service and unprofessional management!!!
