Lindsey M. was the hair stylist for my wedding day in July. She was asked to begin hair at 6:45 AM on the big day, her assistant arrived on time although she didnât start prepping the girls until 7:30 having no direction without her boss there. Lindsey didnât show up until 9:30 AM. As the bride, I was supposed to be ready by 9:30 so that when the photographer and videographer arrived I would look finished in all of the photos. My hair was finally done by about 10:30 and makeup had to rush to get me ready in time so I could meet my fiancĂ© for our first look. Lindsey took away my âget readyâ photos with my bridal party. Her assistant could only prep girls, not pin & set the curls. All of us had to be done at 11:00 and she still had 5 girls left at 11:00. Meaning, she took less than 10 minutes to do each girls hair in the last 5 girls. All of my bridesmaids were late for photos and photos had to be rushed as well. When arriving over 2.5 hours late, Lindsey gave no apologies or stated why she was late. Half way through my hair she sat down and said âso sorry I slept through my alarm.â that was all the apology we were given. When asking for payment she stated she would give us 20% off for our troubles the day of. She only gave us about 40% of the time she was supposed to spend on hair that day, which was highly inappropriate, she shouldnât have asked for payment at all. Everyoneâs hair was half way done and fell out throughout the day, didnât even make it through the ceremony. Lindsey is also the only vendor who wouldnât sign a contract stating âsheâs never had any problemsâ I would NOT recommend her for wedding day hair or any hair services in Des Moines. This is a very unprofessional, unkind person. When you are in the wedding business there isnât room for mistakes like this. You have to be a timely, professional person. Her big mistake created a huge damper on my day and will forever affect my wedding photos. My bridesmaids hair is in rollers in the photos and we werenât able to take any photos in our robes like we had hoped. My fiancĂ© waited for me in the heat when I arrrived 30 minutes late and was sweaty in most of the photos due to waiting for me. Completely...
Read moreI was in a wedding and Lindsey was our hair stylist. Lindsey showed up almost TWO HOURS LATE to do our hair. Her excuse was "I slept through my alarm". She expressed no remorse and did not care to make up for this. What kind of "professional" does that when that's your only job!! We had a specific timed schedule for the wedding day, which started off first thing with 11 girls getting hair and make-up done. This is no exaggeration when I say that the entire day was ruined, everyone was stressed, and important things were set back because Lindsey did not show up for her job on time. She ended up finishing everyone's hair, but it was a horrible job and every girl hated their hair. We were nice about it and just wanted the morning to be over with so we could focus on the important thing, the Bride. The least Lindsey could have done was not charge us. But she still made $100 from each girl and went home that day with $1,100. It sickens me when your wedding day is supposed to be the best day of your life and someone like that ruins it, including photos that are the only memory you have. Advice? Choose a different stylist that's a little more passionate about her job and wont screw you over. Especially on your...
Read moreLindsey is the only person I trust to cut my curly hair. She shapes my curls and takes her time making sure its all even. Although her prices are higher I think the price is justified. I go a lot longer without needing haircuts as compared to other stylists.
Lindsey is really chill yet professional. I have always felt out of place at salons as some give off a catty mean girl energy which I've never cared for. But Ive never felt that way at this salon.
Additionally, she ensures high quality while following CDC guidelines at her salon.
I have also noticed that she is currently offering some free services for people with 3c and 4 type curl patterns to become experienced in more hair types.
This to me shows an effort to be as inclusive as possible to people with all hair types. Ive struggled for years to find someone who knows what to do with my curl pattern and I have type 3 hair. Many salons don't even make an effort to learn about type 4 hair. Representation matters and her effort is...
