We had a great experience using The Tea Room as our wedding reception venue. The space is absolutely stunning, and the staff was friendly and easy to work with. We toured The Tea Room and signed later that week. We loved the layout and decor right away. While we did not get ready there, the bridal suite is beautiful with natural light, mirrors, plenty of seating, and a private restroom. It was the perfect place to relax and reset throughout the night. The sound system was excellent. At other receptions I have been to, the music can be either too loud or uneven throughout the space, but that was not the case at The Tea Room. I also have only good things to say about our vendors who worked with the The Tea Room during our big day and in the past. The staff was always kind and quick to answer our emails. They allowed us to come by to see the space during the planning process and were present as we set up the day before. (This did come with an additional fee, but it was worth it for the peace of mind and stress-free setup.) Everything was handled professionally. Lastly, the space itself is stunning, spacious, and comfortable. It was exactly what we envisioned and perfect for everything we needed. Our guests loved it and commented on how beautiful and welcoming it felt.

Beautiful Venue Friendly / Attentive Staff Clear Communication Recently I was honored to be the Emcee for an incredible wedding celebration that was hosted at The Tea Room in downtown Des Moines Maddie and the staff were amazing with their communication and answering questions via email to make our load in and setup.a breeze. When you're traveling 5x hours away to entertain a couple and their family, having important details is crucial to ensuring a stress free evening for everyone involved. Let me just say that the room is BEAUTIFUL! Gorgeous crown molding adorning the 16" foot ceilings, the views of downtown Des Moines and the separate "spaces" for the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and lounge area are often undercooked as you think about the guest experience for an 8+ hour day. This place is such a gem in the heart of the city and makes me wish we had a similar venue in my hometown. If you're looking at hosting an event in the bridal, corporate or non-profit space, this is an incredible asset to the entire events industry.

Love the Tea Room! Super elegant space, balcony with an amazing view! This venue is one of my top favorites. It also has a private room for the bride and groom to have a moment to relax with their wedding party and freshen up. Along with a private bathroom. The restoration of the Tea Room is so well done. If you look at the celling you can see the original molding that they were able to save. It is a reminder of the past and how far they have come into bringing new life back into such a beautiful historical space.

My wife and I had our wedding at the Tea Room back in November and the experience was excellent. From the first time we toured to leaving for the night of our wedding, the staff were incredibly helpful and professional. They were able to work with us to solve even the slightest of problems, and had excellent suggestions on layout, timings, drinks, and everything in between. The venue itself is detailed and beautiful, and with a bit of decorations (we went minimal) it looks very sophisticated and timeless. We had our ceremony in the main room, and they were able to flip it for dinner in an hour, giving us plenty of time (but not overly long) for a cocktail hour. They have audio setup in house which was helpful for the ceremony, as well as projector equipment that we were able to use for a slideshow. Overall, fantastic location to host or attend an event! If I did have to make a suggestion, I would say investing in a cart or two for clients to use for bringing in and out items would be beneficial for all especially since the parking is...
