Food Giant — Local services in Detroit

Since this new management came in food Giant has totally went to the pits that produce is real s* The prices are skyrocketing you talk about price gouging for a 8 oz block of Kraft cheese they want almost $6 certain items the price has risen anywhere from 25 to 75% The old staff has completely left so there's a bunch of new people in there and they refuse to assist you with anything now back to the produce they will leave bags of greens with the stems at the bottom mushy the leaves turning brown and they will not put out any fresh ones because they think somebody going to come in and buy those tomatoes and peppers look like they went and dug them out of a dumpster The lettuce is it big as cantaloupe but they won't $4 for it you know it's a neighborhood store in a lot of people count on it but they're taking advantage of the situation I've been living in this neighborhood since 1972 and it was never this bad I understand that the prices are going up but this doesn't make any sense and if I had any connections to Detroit council members I will have them investigate this store and possibly shut it down so if you read this and you don't believe me go in and see...

I wasn’t going to post this but now I feel like I have to. My mom and I went to this food giant on Tuesday afternoon (8/13/24) and I purchased some potatoes and some grapes that I thought from the outside of the packaging looked promising. When I got home and opened up the potatoes, they were molded AND had larva and bugs inside. I called and complained to the manager and he claimed that he had someone go and check the produce in that section. People….that does not matter all! Everything is going to spread. Then here we are (8/15/24) I decided to open my grapes and they have mold all over them! Again, it did not look like that from the outside. I have purchased fruits from other reputable companies and grapes is not one of those things that just mold within two days. Beware...

Until now I would have recommended these guys, clean store, friendly staff. But today...OK so they had cheese on sale a couple of weeks ago I pretty much tried to buy the store out. I called back a week later explained only 1 pack cheese went bad, explained I'm sick and on the bus; he said no problem. Today he wasn't in I explained to the other guy, was treated horribly, he had to come from door to start some more talk. I said you're going to make me not come back over $1.25 he said he didn't care. Okay...over a dollar. I pass too many other...
