I stopped by the Grant Grove Village Market yesterday afternoon to grab a few things. For being deep inside Kings Canyon National Park, it's a very welcome and convenient spot. They have a surprisingly good selection of cold drinks, from all the standard sodas and waters to iced coffees and energy drinks. The real gem was finding local Rosa Brothers milk in glass bottles—I saw whole, chocolate, and banana flavors. It’s always nice to see local products featured. The snack aisle was also well-stocked with a variety of chips and other trail-friendly foods. The main thing to be aware of is that stock levels can be low, especially later in the day. As you can see from my photos, some of the shelves and coolers had significant empty spaces. This is pretty common for remote park stores that rely on periodic deliveries. Verdict: This market is a lifesaver for grabbing a cold drink, a quick snack, or an essential you forgot. Just don't plan on doing a full week's worth of grocery shopping here. It's best to arrive with your main supplies and use the market to supplement.

Shoutout to one of the staffs who’s name is Victor. It was me and my friends’ first day in the park and our gas ran out quicker than we thought, we stopped by this market seeking for helps, Victor generously offered some gas from his gas tank and guarded us all the way down to the nearest gas station. No words could describe how much we appreciated him, he literally saved our day like a hero 😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏

Well stocked convenience store. They also have a microwave and free condiments/plasticware. The best deals are their very fairly priced local beers, sold individually for $2 to $3.50/can, packaged salads (Caesar and Asian) for $4.50, and various local sausages in the freezer that are cheaper than hot dogs. Ice is pricey at $10/10 lbs. as are other items you should have brought with you.

Victor at the Grant Grove Market is beyond incredible. When our gas ran out of gas, he really went above and beyond to help us. Not only he found us some oil in his oil tank to give us the precious extra miles to make it to the gas station, he also offers to follow us all the way to the nearest gas station in case our car dies off in the middle of nowhere.

We initially feel doomed to run out of gas when the mileage of nearest gas station is obviously more than our gas can sustain us to. But we are so glad we came across this market and Victor. Not only do we get the help we desperately need, but also we get us a good microwaved meal from the market that just tastes better than anything in the world when you’re hungry.

We love this store and Victor. And recommend anyone traveling to Kings Canyon to pass by and...
