My fiance and I hired Chef Shawn for our Dinner for Two to celebrate our four year anniversary...seven weeks before our wedding day! It will forever be one of our most memorable dinners! Shawn arrived two hours early to begin cooking our amazing 3 course meal (including freshly made yeast rolls that we continue to talk about!). We didn't want to hover in the kitchen, so we took the time to relax, have a glass of wine and practice our dance routine for the wedding. We know he saw us dancing, but he didn't say anything! He also didn't mind that our dog kept trying to say hi while he was cooking...we did our best without trapping him in his crate.
When it was time to be seated for dinner, Chef Shawn had transformed our dining room, using platters and decorations he had found in the kitchen. He even took a flower petal to make the bread plate look extra fancy. I was impressed with the little things! The 3 course meal was spaced out well, but we weren't left waiting like we would have in a restaurant. He even took the time to answer all of our questions. The most amazing thing was that all of these things were made in our kitchen! Plus side, I didn't have to clean up either!
I would consider us foodies. I have a running list of restaurants I want to try and I normally take a photo of the better occasions. We spoil ourselves with nights out to celebrate with wine and food. The night before we went to Atlas, where you can experience the must-try dishes of Chef Grossman, recently from highly-acclaimed French Laundry in California. The dishes by Chef Shawn were on par! I honestly don't know which I enjoyed more.
The menu: Goat cheese fritters, peach butter, pickled peach and sprouts Cedar wrapped pork tenderloin, salsa verde, purple potatoes, spicy green bean and carrot slaw Chocolate lava cake, berries, vanilla ice cream
All delicious! It was wonderful being at home, not having to drive, and it made our night extremely memorable. A perfect way to celebrate a special occasion!
Thank you Amy...
Read moreI had the pleasure of hiring this company to cook for me during my engagement/ proposal dinner to my girlfriend. I was referred to them by a co-worker's wife in Augusta, GA. They assured me that this company could bring my vision to life and accommodate any requests I may have. The evening went great! From the beginning Hugo Patricio helped me coordinate every detail of the evening to include choosing between their summer and fall menu, selecting items to be included in the dinner, pricing options, selection of three courses or higher, and the selection of a chef to cook for us. I had very specific needs and chose a five course dinner for the evening. I will leave out some details but I can sum this up rather easily: She said yes, the chef was on time, the chef was prepared, the chef was personable, the food that our chef (NIA)cooked was amazing, the portions were just right, the ingredients tasted fresh and they did not skimp on the meat (especially the real lobster clumps in our bisque...yum), the chef blended into the kitchen and let us enjoy our evening without too much interruption, the chef timed her preparation of each course perfectly (though she was working alone), the chef explained the ingredients when we presented her with a question, the chef cleared plates for us each course, and lastly the super chef...NIA...cleaned the kitchen and packed everything up as if she was never there. I am huge on professionalism and she exceeded my expectations. I am an active duty Soldier in the Army however I have years of experience serving tables to include fine dining restaurants; I can be pretty critical but I was truly satisfied. Thank you Atlanta Personal Chef Service, you all truly made my night memorable (and the roses that you all provided were really nice...
Read moreAPCS and Chef Christan (and occasionally Chef Marta) completely transformed our life this past year. Work ramped up for both my husband and myself, and we were either eating out or eating dinner at 9pm at night. Too many nights were spent stressing about what we were going to eat.
We really enjoy Chef Christan's interpretations of our favorites as well as introducing us to some of her favorites. It has been a relief to come home from work and be able to warm up a delicious home cooked meal.
The weekly menu proposal and collaboration process is very thorough with ingredient lists and Chef Christan has been fantastic at rolling with my last minute additions and changes. She also came and spent Christmas Eve morning helping me prepare entrees and sides for our family dinner for 16 people - what a treat!
When weighed against the cost of dining out (even take out from a decent restaurant) and all of the money spent on food that went to waste because we were too tired to cook it, we have found that the APCS weekly service package is nearly cost neutral. And the value provided makes it a worthwhile investment in our...
