I’ve came here a few times because the food was good. This last time I came, once I got home, I realized I was missing my sides so I called and was told I could come back on another day to get it. The chicken tasted like it had been sitting in old grease, not good at all. I called back and someone by the name of “Coco” answered and I said I don’t think I’ll be coming back anytime soon because I didn’t like the food, can I get a partial refund? I hear her in the background saying “just give her a refund” and hangs up in my ear. I call back she answers saying “I’m trying to get you a refund!” I said what’s the reason for hanging up and the nasty attitude though? Another female gets on the phone and I asked if they were the manager she says no they don’t come in the store. I ask for their number and then she hangs up! I call back AGAIN and this time a male answers and says he’s the shift manager and said they’re trying to get me a refund and then he said he called the manager and the manager said I’m not able to get a refund just because I didn’t like the food. I told him Im requesting a refund of what I never received because I’m definitely not coming back because of the horrible service. He says” Oh, I didn’t know all that” and gives me a partial refund after all that extra nonsense I had to deal with. “Coco” needs to be hired as the cleaner and not customer facing as bad as her attitude is. This restaurant will no longer be getting business from myself, family, friends...
Read moreI’m highly disappointed in this restaurant, especially because of the reviews the price. So I order the brisket, the macaroni and cheese, the yams, the color greens, and the red velvet cake in a separate order. I also ordered. The peach, lemonade, and some waters, and the meal with the food came with cornbread. The best part of the meal was definitely the yams and cornbread. The food came fast, and I wasn’t waiting long, however The brisket is under seasoned and they keep the fatty part on the brisket so that it’s moist, but it’s so moist that it’s soaking in its own juices like when you pick it up it’s like picking me up out of the soup. The six cheese, macaroni and cheese taste like they missing three types of cheese And it was dry. The greens were made with no seasoning at all, and for all of these things to be like this there is no reason to make people pay separately for the entrée and the side. If you were going to give people mediocre meat and sides put them together so they can complement each other. Not that they did. The red velvet cake tasted like they did not use cream cheese frosting, which is a staple for that cake, and the cake tasted like Play-Doh. It would have been better to use a box. aside from the negatives, the yams and the cornbread is Goated! And the peach lemonade was also very nice. As it is my first time in the area I can not recommend based on not knowing...
Read moreOrdered here a few months back and got the sliced beef brisket bc they were out of fried catfish. The taste was ok on the first bite but the connective tissue was still connected between the slices and it was repulsive. The non southern potato salad left a lot to be desired. The non homemade Mac and cheese was good. A few months later I decided to give another chance. I got the catfish, Mac and cheese and collards. For about $28 for two pieces of overcooked catfish, manufacturer made Mac and cheese, and decent collards with a drink, I was very disappointed I had to pay extra for tarter sauce that came in packets. For the price you’d think they’d offer a great homemade tarter sauce. I‘ve lived in GA all 41 years of my life and I can say that THIS is not worth the 5 star price nor does it have that southern touch.
I really wanted this place to be IT. Have a good backyard BBQ with the elders helping make the sides like mac and cheese, potato salad, throw some fried okra with it, black eyed peas…..That’s the southern taste that’s missing here. 5 star pricing but packets of tarter sauce not made in house. SMH
This place could focus on only offering just catfish, BBQ, and beef brisket with just a few sides and with their own homemade tarter sauce and their own original BBQ sauce - all made in house - and really set themselves apart. Stop...
