I discovered Guggisberg Cheese in Charm, Ohio many many years ago when I was doing surveillance and followed someone from WV to The Guggisberg Swiss Inn. One brother and his family own the inn - the other brother owns the property across the street and raises cows that produce milk for the Guggisberg cheese, right there in their own factory.

My favorite of all the cheeses is the Guggisberg Butter Cheese. I think it is so excellent that I took a huge wheel down to Greater Atlanta where I dropped it off for the host of the food channels, "Good Eats" Alton Brown. This Cheese is so mild that I have been in line at a Famer's Market-type store in Greencastle, PA and bought 1/4 pound packs for customers to try.

They are famous far and wide for their Baby Swiss! in 2018 the Guggisberg Baby Swiss was named the best cheese in America. Take that Wisconsin!!!

Great place for your stop in Amish Country just about 10 minutes from Rte. 62. And the Inn is a great place to stay, and you can meet a real Horse Whispier - how cool! And by the way I have eaten at the restaurant as well and the food was tremendous. I love this part of Ohio Andy Guggisberg family has made this a great place to visit.

I wish I could rate them and their cheese...

When we pulled up to the Cheese Factory, I was so excited!! It was cheesy the way it was all decorated in the American version of the Swiss Alps, Sound of Music, Julie Andrew's Singing "The Hills are Alive"...lol!!

I lived in Europe for about 4 years and it's not like this....lol But, it was very beautiful! I loved the bell chiming in the bell tower!!! This place is known for their award winning Baby Swiss Cheese so of course we had to buy some!!! They didn't offer any Cheese samples at all, not even in a controlled way!! A sample or 2 would have been nice.. We bought some Colby and some pepper jack along with a schnitzel seasoning packet and some German candy... We had a nice visit and you can look through the glass window walls and watch them make their advertised 84,000 pounds per day!!! The Baby Swiss is super Good!! Highly recommend to all and...

Going to the Amish country and not visiting Guggisberg Cheese is unthinkable! Unless you have a genuine reason not to do so.

The cheese factory is about two miles off the main road between Millersberg and Berlin. The store has a fabulous collection of goodies - cheeses, meats (not for me though as a vegetarian), hot sauces, jams and jellies, soft drinks .. I could pick up only as much as my helmet would hold - 4/5 types of cheese and some hot sauce bottles. Found the smaller pieces of buttery cheese really appetizing and at $2.95 a small box, I should have probably picked up some more. Very little salt, and a hint of being sweet, in fact .. simply wow! The horseradish flavored cheese was simply outstanding. I was indeed happy to have taken the small detour and fill my bag with the goodies. Next time I am here, I am going to have a larger...

So I went on a Saturday around 1 and the store was packed not quite enough room to walk around and look without stepping on someone else. There was a line to buy some specialty cheeses so I skipped waiting in line and just grabbed some cheese that was sitting in the cooler. I would recommend the variety bits as they are tasty the pepper Jack cheese in the variety bits was amazing. The Ziller cheese I was told was the #2 cheese in the world, not sure where the voting was or what type of cheeses were being judged that is just what the lady behind the counter said while handing out samples. I’d suggest not to go on a weekend if you have the option unless you don’t mind right quarters and waiting in line.
