We’ve attended a birthday and another event at The Art Garage a few years ago. When I saw them “donate” a birthday party package at a title 1 school, I bid on it. I paid close to $200 for what was advertised as a $300 package value. When I received it in late May 2024, I emailed the owner to ask if I could use it in spring of 2025 (that’s when both of my girls birthdays are) since there was an expiration date of 12-31-24. She said, “That would be just fine! :)” I even specified the months when I asked. Not sure she would give out a voucher for just seven months anyway as kids have birthdays year-round. I called in December when I was sick to schedule, but no one answered. I left it for January as I felt awful. I emailed 1-15-25 to school the birthday party for April. The owner replies saying it expired and now will only allow for a deposit of $100-$150. I’m in shock. I have the email thread showing she said it was okay. I called and talked to Meghan, the manager at the south location. She apologized and said there’s nothing she can do as Kelly, the owner, is her boss. She was really nice about it and has been nice when we’ve gone in the past. She is likely the one who people encounter when they go. The owner clearly lacks integrity, honor, and is greedy. How can one give out a voucher for $300, say it’s okay to use past the expiration date that she personally set anyway, and then say it’s actually now worth a third or half that?! She should give the voucher to help the title 1 school and honor it when a family tries to use it. I can only assume she used it for free advertising and is so greedy she tries to get more money out of the family that won it. I already mentioned several times we would pay for extra kids as it only includes eight kids. She would have made money from me if that was her agenda. She clearly just...
Read moreI brought my mom to The Art Garage last Saturday as a Mother's Day activity. I always look for fun, creative things we can do when she is in town for a visit. We didn't know exactly what we were getting into when we arrived, but within a few minutes we were diving into the possibilities of fun art activities! There are SO MANY OPTIONS!!! You choose from different kinds of crafts ( canvas, mosaic, glasswork, greenwear) and within those options, there is a huge variety of ways to do a project! The only limit is the imagination! The staff is ridiculously sweet, friendly, helpful, kind, and SUPPORTIVE!!! They show you the options and then teach you how to do the craft you chose. They are so sweet, I swear they are made of sugar! The layout of the space is so well thought out. There can be birthday parties, friend groups, couples, and individuals and the space can fit those needs. It was impressive how they had separate party rooms, but also how they had varied table arrangements to suit all kinds. The place was packed when we went. So many kid's parties and friend groups! If it looks a little wild when you show up, just go do it anyway! The parties only last so long and people matriculate out pretty easily. The staff is well poised to the busy environment. Things will most likely taper off and you will get lots of time to work on your project! If you don't love crowds, just go a little later in the day. We really appreciated that we could work as long as we wanted on our projects. This was a huge plus as we get way into our art! There was never any pressure to hurry. Thanks to The Art Garage for being the highlight of...
Read moreI do not recommend this business. I signed my daughter up for a camp paid a "deposit" which I thought was the full amount. There was apparently confusion, it appears to be on my end. I did not receive any correspondence after signing up for the camp until 6-8 weeks later or maybe I could have corrected it. When I did receive an email from them it had an invoice for the remaining amount of the camp. When I reached out to the business explaining that I thought I had paid the total amount already they sent a rude/belittling email back to me saying "the camp clearly says deposit". But, there were some other discrepancies on their website about ages on camps not matching up correctly also a flyer would say 12+ but the description would say 11+ or vice versa, so I guess mistakes can happen to anyone. I guess they just don't put up with it if it happens with...
