We have tried Happy sleeper on two occasions...The only positive experience we had was with Scott the salesman..he was EXCELLENT..the gentleman at the desk who I later learned was the owner didn't smile or give us the time of day...we wanted a flippable mattress like our previous one that we'd had for at least 10 years...we tried it out several times in showroom and felt it was the best one..pillowtop...UNFORTUNATELY...6 months later..after we have rotated it and flipped like instructed it has obvious indents and permanent sags where we sleep...we will have to go mattress shopping elsewhere...I am only 5'2" and weigh 125.. me husband is just over 200 lbs... BUT the worst buying experience was when I suggested to my daughter to go buy a mattress from Happy Sleeper!!..and talk to Scott ...this was just after we bought our mattress and had an enjoyable sales experience from Scott...They too had a good sales experience ..UNFORTUNATELY went downhill from there!!...they discovered after first few days the gel made them uncomfortable...so under the sales agreement they called to exchange to a different one..the day it was to be delivered they careful put mattress by door so the new one could be put on bed when it came..they came to the house did the exchange and thought that was the end of it...NO!....they came to the house 6 hours later UNANNOUNCED at the end of their deliveries demanding the new mattress back !..they said they had found a small spot...My son in law said they had the mattress protector on and that they are the ones who picked it up from house and didn't say one word about a stain or spot...they had it in their van driving around all day with deliveries and how did they know that it wasn't them that got the spot on it upon putting it in their truck and all the other deliveries they did...My Son-in-law told them no..they were not exchanging it...It did not have a stain when it left their house as the delivery people checked it over.. and how can they come back 6 hrs later..the man in charge..later learned the owner of store said it was very suspicious that they put it by the door..My daughter really felt insulted..she said we were trying to be helpful so the new mattress could go right on the bed!!..then the owner told them to "NEVER CALL HAPPY SLEEPER AGAIN!"..They could not believe it was the owner that was being so rude and accusatory!!!...Horrible business experience..because of their rude behavior I will no longer shop there and have told my story to numerous potential buyers..until they change how they deal in customer service I will not return..My Husband is an owner of a very susccessful business here in Duluth and my Son-in-law is a financial planner with a big company here in Duluth..We are all very shocked and disappointed at how we...
Read moreWe purchased a mattress from Happy Sleeper and within 2 weeks realized it wasn't going to work. Talked to Scott, who is so beyond helpful, and he said to come in pick a new one and they would exchange it. We placed the mattress by the door for easy exchange. My sister in law happened to be staying at my house when they came. She said they came in and attempted to bag the mattress. He got one bag on and had trouble with the second. Don came in and told him not to worry about double bagging it just make sure he had one bag on. And off they went. They arrived that evening without a call demanding the mattress back. They said there was a spot on the mattress. They drove all the way up the shore with it all day and then decided the spot was something we did. We asked why they didn't inspect it before they left and he could not give us an answer. He then told me there's no way with it double bagged a spot could get on it in transit! Ha! Funny part is they weren't able to get it double bagged so that was a lie. I knew this spot was in no way our fault! So I adememtly denied them from taking it. He told me it looked suspicion sitting in the entrywall hall. I had done that as a courtesy. He was accusing me of trying to hide something! I was shocked. He stormed in my home without my permission and said he was exchanging the mattress! I should have called the police for such rudeness and uninvited entry! With more arguing and said I would call Scott and talk to him. Don told me not to bother that he was the owner! The owner was treating his customers this way! That's appalling! So he left and shouted never call Happy Sleeper Again! Don't worry we won't and neither will our friends...
Read moreI went into Happy Sleeper with the intention of finding a mattress similar to one we found at HOM. I entered it smelled a bit dirty but it could have been the old building. There was no one in sight so I walked around. Eventually I called out and a man appeared. He was dressed in an old sweatshirt. He stood up and walked toward me but didn’t ask how he could help me but I told him that we were in the market for a new mattress and I had looked a specific model at HOM telling him exactly the one we liked. He said he had no clue what it was unless I could tell him what was inside the matress(I would think a good salesman would know or could check). I kept trying but was quickly losing my patience. I want to support local businesses when possible. He went on that he would not have any idea on comparibles, so I said one would think you’d know your competition better. He got mad(yes it was a bit rude on my part). I said I was trying to work with him to which he replied, “ Uh, no not really!” I said I wanted to do business there but I would be leaving to which he said, “Good, and good luck to the poor salesperson who has to deal with you!” Well I lost it, said some not nice things, and stormed out! To say the least I am saddened by this experience and hope the owners read this. I know he will say it was all me but REALLY? He had “no clue” what the competitors have nor could he maybe look it up? ...
