OMC or Oink, Moo, Cluck has to be one of the best hidden gems in Duluth, MN. My buddy and I went up to do a job and stayed the weekend to just relax and get out of our regular routine. A local resident that was working at the clinic we were installing IT equipment for asked if we "knew about OMC" and we didn't. My friend is more into the BBQ scene than I am but I have to say that even for someone that doesn't LOVE BBQ this place was amazing.
The waitstaff were fantastic, the atmosphere was great, the location was easy to get to and parking was fine. But the food...
OMC could also be called OMG because that was basically all I could say for over an hour during and after the meal. Other than indistinguishable grunts, groans and MMMMMMMMMMM's, I think I said OH MY GOD about a thousand times.
The meat was so well done that it was like butter. The brisket was cut with a fork and melt in your mouth. Chicken was fall off the bone fantastic and the sides were just to die for. The fries were done in duck fat or something, that basically ruined french fries for me at any other location, that's how good those fries were. They had this pea side dish that had something like bacon but not so overpowering as bacon and it was just amazing.
Long story short, I could go into a 2 hour commercial for this place or I could just let you know that this is a MUST stop if you are in the area. It's not by the tourist area so you'll need to drive / walk into the city a tad but it's worth every second of your time. I would even tell someone that doesn't love BBQ that they need to just go there and eat. If you like meat, Americana food, high quality and properly prepped dishes then you owe this place a go. Bring a wheelbarrow to get yourself out of that place. And it's as good the next day warmed up as it was the...

What a find! It pays to read reviews, as this restaurant is off the chart. I travel a lot, and it is about flavor, ambiance, customer service, and food variety. This restaurant has it all. The menu is BBQ based with some unique twist. I showed up for the White Alabama BBQ sauce I have been wanting to try. It was fantastic. I could put that sauce on everything. But their other sauces were very flavorful. My server (Sarah F) was great. She was very informative and gave history on each of the foods I asked about. And as a Arnold Palmer connoisseur, OMC had a great spin on their Arnie Palmer. They a spearmint Infused Hibiscus version, which represented a Winnie Palmer, and a fresh organic black tea version for Mr. Palmer. Absolutely delicious. and bottomless. The Jalapena Brisket Popper were outstanding. very unique and a great twice. Their 2 flame warning is really not hot at all. The BBQ meat platter with 2 sides was fantastic. The bark on the Ribs, was nice, but I really liked the thin layer of fat on the brisket. It made it moist and full of flavor with the White Bama Sauce. Yeah Baby!! Jalapena Grits and sweet Potato bake as the bomb. I even had their chocolate whoopi cake for dessert. One suggestion OMC, put a few more south desserts on the menu to round it out. Overall great meal, Great service by Sarah F, the ambience was comfortable and relaxed. Couple of notes, the restaurant charges a 5% kitchen staff charge, which is worth every penny. As well as a 3.5% charge for non-cash transaction which is the cost restaurants now have to incur. All worth it. OMC, thank you for letting me spend my one and only evening meal with in Duluth. A great memory at the end of my business trip. ...
Read moreI walked in and ordered takeout. I got the smoked OMC platter $37. Mac and cheese for a side and upgraded for $2 for beef fat fried fries. I also added 5oz of smoked turkey. Not sure of the price on the turkey as it's not on the menu to look back at but I believe based on the total it was about $10 for 5 oz
When it was ready, I took it straight out to the car so I could try some of it hot and fresh!
The ribs were good. The rub had a nice amount of pepper. It was odd that the tips of the ribs were mushy to the point where the bone was just paste. Not sure how that happens.
The brisket had nice flavor, but was on the dry side.
The skin on the quarter of the chicken was on the soft and flabby side. I peeled that off and enjoyed the chicken. It wasn't very moist, but it wasn't too dry. It had a nice flavor and held the flavors of the dipping sauce.
The smoked turkey was very dry and the brine was extremely salty. I would say that it was my least favorite of the meats.
The mac and cheese had a strong cheddar flavor and I liked it that the noodles weren't mushy underwear al dente.
The beef fat fries were disappointing. Beef fat is able to fry at a high temperature so I was expecting crispy fries and they were on the mushy side. In theory taking them all the way home and opening the box at home I would have assumed they had steam softened on the ride, but I just walked out the door and straight to my car and opened the the box.
There were a couple other dishes that I would be interested in trying.
Although I was getting takeout, I did take a peek in the restaurant and it looked very charming and it looks like it has a really nice outdoor seating area when it's not -4°.
The only picture I have is from when I actually got home and had...
