The 2019 show was the third show in four years that I've attended, and this year was by far the most disappointing. It feels like the airshow is now more focused on product vendors and selling food than displaying and educating people about aircraft and their use or history. The aerial demonstrations were good, but apart from maybe two aircraft, the static displays were unimpressive and poorly positioned for viewing. The KC-135, C-17, and many other aircraft weren't even viewable up close on the ground. Even worse, several of the previously posted attractions were no-shows (such as the F-22, P-8 Poseidon and MiG-17). I am also disappointed that there were no booths for meeting and talking to veterans. This is something that even a smaller (but well organized) airshow like AirExpo at Flying Cloud Airport does very well with the opportunity to meet veterans from WWII through today. Paying the high ticket price to enter and then finding more food vendors and product booths than aircraft doesn't make me want to attend future shows.
Additionally, the parking situation drastically declined in convenience this year. One of the easiest ways to get to and from the show was parking at Miller Hill Mall and riding the shuttle. That wasn't even available this year, so on-site parking was the only affordable option.
Unless there are several big changes publicly announced to be coming for next year, it is unlikely I will be attending again and will encourage others not to...
Read moreMe and my son are airplanes enthusiasts, especially when it comes to jet fighters. I was glad to see the raptor, and also got to see F15 up close and personal for the first time. We had a blast this weekend. Two complains.........one is, the acrobatic shows by three small prop airplanes......IN A ROW......I think it was a mistake, and taking too long. They should spaced them out with different performers in between. By the third airplane, most people, including us......didn't pay much attention anymore, and wanted it stop because for most people, they were doing pretty much the same thing. Secondly.....we sat at the very right side.....and we could not hear anything. The loudspeaker should be spread out more, or add another one, or point the outer one toward the right side more. Overall, we had fun, and planning to go again in the future......and it will get better and better !

UGH!!!! I was SOOOO looking forward to see the Lancer and B52....and neither were there !!! that was such a let down to me personally (and I am sure to many as well). The Lancer was my childhood favorite (besides the F14)...... Drove 2+ hours up north with my kiddo today.....and even though it was a let down for me, we always had fun. And I do understand that things come up. Hoping next year.......the Lancer...
Read moreDuluth airshow is primarily a poorly-managed one with only a couple of interesting performances at the cost of high price and mismanagement. We went with family and friends on May 18 (Sat), 2024 driving from Minneapolis. There were long line after parking at the Teal lot. It took us around 40mins to reach the shuttle bus. Once the bus took us to the designated area, it was straightforward. We heard many thousand people attended and there were not space to put the foldable chair or picnic mat anymore. We all stood on our feet for the entire afternoon and so did many families with young kids. The management could not arrange the space for it was over-crowded. In our four hours+ attendance, there was only one good stunt. Except for this one, there were no good time when multiple planes took off at the same time. So, it was extremely boring. A couple other planes were very archaic ones and far from interesting. The schedule was not maintained for a single performance and all of them were off by 45 to 60 minutes. We were really at the limits of our patience. The program schedule was being sold for $10. The ticket fare was $30 plus $2.9 fee. Parking was $15 with $1.95 fee. It is definitely not worth the money, time, hassle and anything interesting or to appreciate. Not...
