Compton Pawn Shop — Local services in East Compton

This store doesn’t sell any higher end items to locals. I asked if this was all they had and they said they have some higher end stuff on eBay. I asked if I could check it out and they said no, they give it to a third party to handle that. So I wouldn’t pawn anything higher end here as they are just going to blow it out on eBay without your chance to get it back. If you come here looking for higher end nicer stuff you’re wasting your time as they won’t show people in store. Stupid policy against locals.

Edit: Store responded. Store offered me a discount on an overpriced item, doesn’t have anything to do with not displaying high end items for locals to buy. Offering a discount on a mid range item doesn’t make up for the fact in multiple departments the nicest goods are not available to locals to buy back or buy in store. Most of the stuff is beat up, anything second rate they can’t get away with on eBay. If you want to see their made in USA or Japan or UK inventory, settle for the privilege you have of looking at only made in China, Indonesia or Mexico by policy. Manager displays their incompetence, instead of listening to common sense feedback tries to label as “privileged” for thinking locals should be treated at least equally as other customers. Telling me I can’t see some items for sale because I’m local and you don’t sell high end items to locals isn’t good service. I gave two stars before, but...

’ve called many pawn shops and most of them are so rude over the phone. Compton pawn shop is different. Junior answered the phone and he was so helpful. Although he couldn’t give me a exact quote for my gold. He caught my attention because he actually acted like he wanted to be there and help me out. He asked me to come in and we made an appointment. I brought him some scrap and they were able to pay 10 dollars more per gram then the competition. Thank god...

I had a 10kt necklace and a 14kt necklace. I went to several different pawnshops and they offered me $30 or $40. This guy at the compton pawnshop offered me $200.00 I was happy. I had a really great experience coming here. I usually pawn but those were the only jewelries I sold. When I went back and sold something else I got $90.00, but they told me the guy who gave me 200 didn't work there anymore. I hope he didn't get fired, but this location gives...
