I highly recommend buying furniture from any other store. I purchased the beige Commix Down Filled Overstuffed 4-Piece Sectional Sofa Set on March 2nd from Homethreads, the website indicated it would ship in 2-3 weeks and upon ordering I received a notification that it would ship by March 26th. I waited patiently for that day, it came and went and a week later the status was still “in process” meaning it had not shipped. I reached out to homethreads to understand why it still had not shipped and they told me they were having delays and that it would ship the next week. I called that next week and was given no new information except that it should actually ship the next week (another week later) with no explanation. That next week, I called again and was told Modway was closed for 2 weeks due to passover. I’m not sure why I was never told about this when I called originally but I was patient and waited another week to call back when passover ended. I called back again a week later and they said it should ship the next week, Modway was catching up due to passover. I proceeded to call each week and get told that the couch would ship that next week with no end in sight. It’s now been almost 11 weeks and I still have not received any new information about my couch except that “it will ship next week” which judging by my past experience, is a lie. On top of this, the website for this specific couch in beige has indicated it should ship in 2 to 4 business days over the past couple of weeks, meaning either they’re shipping the couch I’ve been waiting for to other customers before me or they are just lying on their ship date on the website. We had a unfortunate incident with this company and a possible defective item they sold us that turned out to be a horrible experience. We purchased a Modway Amistad 72" Wood Dining Table and Bench Set and from the beginning we felt the bench was extremely flimsy. We contacted them about a possible defect shortly after the purchase to have them tell us as it seems they told many others to contact the dealer we bought it from, although the dealer is not responsible for a defective item made by the manufacturer nonetheless we came to find out the dealer had went out of business and so they told us they would issue a refund and then we never heard back from after multiple attempts to reach them, they just stopped answering. Very unprofessional.
This is only the beginning unfortunately. The bench ended up flipping over and severing a part of my daughters toe. I contacted them again about the issue and they had the same type of response, "we will look into it and get back to you" and we never heard back. I will have to pursue the matter legally now since they're unwilling to help in anyway.
To anyone thinking of doing business with them or buying their product this is a warning to proceed with caution and to honestly look elsewhere, because these people that don't seem to care about their customers and don't deserve the support and business, there is other places that will treat you with the care and respect you deserve. Due to delays in my home renovation, I only opened the package two months after delivery and was shocked to find that the vanity top was completely shattered. At the time, a plumber was scheduled to install the vanity, and it was only then that I realized the vanity top was unusable. Not only could the installation not be completed, but I also had to pay the plumber's travel fee for a job that couldn't be finished.
When I reached out to the seller they told me to contact the manufacturer, Modway, as the product was covered under a 1-year warranty. I then contacted Modway, the manufacturer, to inquire about the warranty and whether it would cover the broken vanity top. Their response was completely unhelpful – they claimed that they could not determine who was at fault or when the damage occurred, and they refused to take responsibility. There was no clarification about what exactly the warranty covers, and they offered no solution.
This entire process has been extremely stressful and frustrating. I feel like I’ve been left with a broken product and no support from either the seller or the manufacturer. If you receive a damaged vanity, there seems to be no way to get compensated or replaced, so I would highly recommend thinking twice before purchasing the product from Modway.
