The place deserves 5 stars. It really does. I held back from 5 stars because it can be hit or miss when it comes to the disposition of the employees. Most of them are perfect, but the bad ones will make you not want to return. While I have noticed that the bad employees are never around long, the experience with them makes me pretty leery about returning for the grooming services. As with many, my animals are my kids so I try to make sure that they are never in harm's way.
In response to the owner, my bad experience has nothing to do with the checkout system. Those girls did nothing wrong. They checked me out and explained the situation well. There was zero inconvenience. I have bought dog food there for 2 years and I will continue to buy it there. The business overall is very well managed.
My bad experience is with the groomers who have washed my dogs in the past. Some of them have been very callous towards the dogs. On one occasion the dogs quick was clipped during grooming and the girl continued to try to grab his paw and put pressure on it. I was standing right there when it happened. I told her to quit trying to put pressure on it. She continued and he kept trying to bite her hand. On another occasion, the dog who has been going there the longest and is always praised for being an angel, the groomer said she kept biting at the blow dryer when she was trying to dry her face. I do recognize that both of them are no longer in your employ. My concern is that some of the groomers who are new don' t have enough hands on experience to be on their own. I mean, if the dog is jerking his paw away while it's bleeding, I wouldn't think that continuing to grab at it and forcing him to allow you to put pressure on it is the approach to take; if the dog bites at the blow dryer while it is in her face, I would think they would have quit blow drying her face and towel dried it. Those are the issues. As I stated in my original review, it is the grooming that...
Read moreWe have two Yorkies who are particularly difficult about getting groomed. Our full size Yorkie had a very bad experience when he was younger, and that is the only reason I can think of as to why he is such a bad doggie to groom because he truly is so sweet and lovable to anyone and everyone in other settings.
We have been extremely blessed and thankful for the kindness, patience, and true love of dogs that the groomer Melissa has shown toward our little angel/terror lol. I actually believe some groomers would turn him away and not want to work on him again, but Melissa has a very good understanding of him, and every time, he comes out meticulously and beautifully groomed.
Melissa usually grooms all of our Yorkies, and the other three are not nearly as naughty as our big guy, but depending on her schedule, there have been days when she has done all four in the same day, and they have each looked perfect.
While Melissa was off work for a little while, we our other three smaller Yorkies groomed by two of the other groomers...I wish I remembered their names, but they did a fantastic job! I mention this because it made me feel like you can't go wrong with any of the groomers who work at Larry's Laundromutt.
Finally, we have an all white haired, green eyed, super sweet domestic indoor-only cat who we take to Larry's for baths and nail trims. Since she is very well behaved about the entire process, she does not have to be done by the cat groomer, but rather one of the bathers. They always do a phenomenal job on her, as although she is not a long- haired cat, she does shed quite a bit.
We have been extremely happy with Larry's Laundromutt in every aspect... I highly recommend them as we have had great experiences with each one of...
Read moreI have NEVER left a one-star review before, but I am extremely disappointed in the customer service here. I have missed 2, maybe 3 appointments due to inconvenient situations and have ALWAYS called to cancel—I have never no-showed. My long-haired cat has been groomed numerous times at this facility, and we drive all the way from Pittsburgh, making a 40-minute commute.
I’m not sure who the owner of this facility is, but allowing their employees to dictate whether customers can come and go is completely uncalled for. I am a service provider and business owner myself, so I fully understand the inconvenience of patients missing appointments. However, I have always given the courtesy of a phone call, and there are zero policies in place to make customers aware of any penalties for cancellations.
Regarding the last name, error ( Clearly stated it’s Martinkovich) This gets misunderstood over the phone all of the time so I provided them my middle name which is four letters & much simpler to hear via cellphone.
The front desk called me to say I am no longer allowed to return because I “canceled too many times,” and they “lose money.” This is terrible management, and they have now...
