Apparently Effingham Performance Center and TicketMaster are far more concerned about profit than they are about basic humanity. My wife and I purchased tickets for our daughter for Drumline Live. We were looking forward to the performance because I had been diagnosed with colon cancer, and we wanted to do something to take all of our minds off of it.
A little over a week before the performance date (Feb 6th), I was notified that a cancelation had opened up a surgery slot nearly two months sooner than expected (Feb 5th) with the best surgeon in the region. At first I encouraged my daughter to find some friends who would enjoy the performance. At around the same time my wife became extremely ill due to, what we later discovered) a 6mm kidney stone. The stone not only caused excruciating pain, but caused her to become septic.
My daughter decided that she wanted to be with her mom and dad, at the hospital, versus attending the event. My wife contacted Ticketmaster to inquire about a refund. She explained to them the serious nature of the unforeseen medical issues. Ticketmaster refused to work with her.
This has shown me, beyond any doubt, that Ticketmaster is a greedy, morally bankrupt company. It also demonstrates that the Effingham Performance Center is bereft of decency and family values.
The tickets were great, four of them that were premium Center, row A, seats 9-12. They could have easily resold them. Instead, they refuse to show any compassion because they don't value anything except profit.
To anyone who reads this, especially if you have experienced similar treatment, share it everywhere. Shame them. Expose them for what...
Read moreWent to Tanya Tucker last night and she was great but was not happy that we couldn't go down to the stage. Not sure what that was all about considering at the Chris Young concert everyone got to b down by the stage. Kinda upset me a little. Some of the guards wasn't real friendly either. Which I understand its their job to make sure everyone os safe but don't have to b rude. Ive also seen lots of people on facebook with live videos and my Daughter was kinda yelled at for recording a small video and it wasn't live on facebook just a small video on her phone. We paid almost 200.00 for our tickets and the show was only an hour and a half and we couldnt go to the stage even to take a better photo?!? I'm really glad we have this place to go to becuz its close to home but were not gonna pay that kind of money and not get our moneys worth! I had a awesome time at Chris Youngs concert and I enjoyed myself at Tanya Tucker was just a little disappointed this round. I will go to one more and if its the same as this trip I won't b going again! Sorry but was disappointed. My mother is a huge fan of hers and we couldn't even get a close picture for her and that's the main reason we went...
Read moreThe center itself is beautiful and I like going there but the show was awful! It was a Ted Nugent concert and it was awful! I had never been to his concert before so didn't know what to expect. His language was total profanity and the "music" was unrecognizable, partly because it was so loud I had to keep my fingers in my ears, and partly because it just sounded like the same bizarre noise every time they played it. The best part of the "music" was that he couldn't be cussing while he was playing it.
I'll go to the performance center again but NEVER to another concert of his. We had hoped it would be a normal program with some real music and some enlightening talk and entertainment. All 4 of us were very, very disappointed in the program. I was surprised that the Center would have someone of this low level of entertainment (I can't call it that) come to perform. We have seen many shows there and been delighted with all of them but now I'll check more carefully when considering a show...
