Where do I even start? This is hands down the BEST fine dining restaurant in Effingham! I have NEVER been disappointed by a dish here, even by things that don't usually sit well with my palette! Everything from the appetizers to the sides to the meals is made with love and attention to detail, and you can tell. Every single time I walk in, I am impressed by the atmosphere and feel incredibly welcome to come and dine. Not only that, the waiters, cooks, and show chefs are all incredible; special shoutout to the show and sushi chefs, who really put their passion into their work! Honestly, if I had to eat at one restaurant for a year, this would be the easiest choice of my life. I've been coming to Fuji's for a long time now, and I'd highly recommend buying the sushi! It is an astronomically delicious experience, and the rolls menu is so extensive you will always have something new to try! For my pickier eaters out there, they offer a lot of mild platters such as rice and chicken, broccoli and beef, and simpler items such as sashimi. Keep in mind that it is a Japanese-style Steakhouse, and foods here are served with a cultural touch that truly transports you to another country! If you are looking for a place to have a date, birthday, or special ocassion, dine here! You will not be...
Read moreAfter listening to the hype, my fiance and I decided to try this place out, and sadly, we were highly disappointed. I had a Fire Dragon Roll and the Chicken Teriyaki dinner. My roll didn't taste very fresh and my chicken taste like something you would get prepackaged or at school, cheap and fake. The White Rice taste like it had been setting in its pot for awhile. My fiance got another roll from the top of the menu that was slightly fried and shrimp fried rice. The roll taste like packaged fishsticks and the shrimp didn't look cooked enough. On top of that, the shrimp and chicken was more than likely cooked together because she found some chicken in her rice. All in all, the food was nowhere near worth the money it costs. As for the service, the hostess seems abit snobbish, like she didn't want to be there. The waiter was alright, abit quiet, but friendly nonetheless. And as for appearance, the place did have some Japanese stuff, but didn't entirely feel like it was pulling off the Japanese experience. The music didn't help either considering it wasn't even Japanese. For the people reading this, I would recommend the Osaka Sushi and Steak restaurant on Broadway Ave, more in the middle of town. They taste alot fresher and are really friendly. And try the Pink Lady, you...
Read moreFood was tolerable but not great. Service was bad to the point of negligence.
We asked for chopsticks after several attempts to get the waiter's attention and were finally given takeout ones, while other tables were given real ones.
I ordered my food without mayo based sauces and the waiter dropped a salad covered with dressing in front of me, leaving before I could object and request one without. He later took it away without giving me the chance get one without dressing.
We got the 2 roll sushi lunch specials and an appetizer. The appetizer, shumai, was actually good. The sushi was disappointing, with very little to it. I ordered the california roll which was thin and mostly rice, and the eel roll which had almost none in it. Husband got 2 spicy rolls and neither were spicy.
We're...
