Alright, listen up! If you’ve never been to Harbor Freight Tools in El Cerrito, you’re missing out on an experience, okay? This place is like the Wild West of tools. You walk in and it’s like, ‘Yeah, half of this stuff is probably gonna break after two uses,’ but who cares? It’s so damn cheap! You need a wrench set? They’ve got one for like five bucks. Sure, one of them might snap the second you look at it funny, but you’ve got nine more, so what’s the big deal?Now, let’s talk about the knockoff stuff. I’m telling you, some of this crap is so good, it’s almost criminal. You’re eyeing a power drill that looks suspiciously like a brand you know, but it’s, what, a tenth of the price? I was pretty happy to see this store (El Cerrito CA) open up, as I've gotten some good value from the brand but Bay Area traffic has discouraged my taking advantage of that for a number of years now. I was surprised to discover what seems to be a renewed focus on quality. An especially rewarding purchase was a pair of small needle-nose pliers initial that had much better fit, finish, design, and strength than I would have expected, at a price I would normally associate with far, far less. Each item is its own story of course, but pricing tends toward the ruthlessly competitive so value can be high. I have also been finding that the person behind the cash register has been quite knowledgeable - don't overlook this resource, it is not like other big stores and I think it is by good management policy - which is another great sign of a place one might want to shop. During age of covid, er never mind that Omg. It's here!!! Closer, newer, better!!! No more driving 45 minutes over a bridge or across 2 County lines to get a 5 dollar item.. or 30 5 dollar items it don't matter! Wooooot! Store is new, brand spanking new! So are the employees, so know that and be kind. The supervisor is on hand to make certain things go smoothly and that items input are correct etc etc. People are new and systems are being learned.
