Knowledgeable staff, long wait. Thank you for offering a low cost vaccine option. I really appreciate it.
I got there at 10:15 on a Friday in the summer and got assigned a number in the 40s for vaccines. They told me I would probably get called around noon, and it was accurate. There were no parking spots in their lot in the morning, but there were plenty in the afternoon.
If you live nearby I would recommend arriving without your pet in the morning to sign in and get a number and then returning with your pet later. It’s not obvious what to do when you arrive: walk up to the counter and fill out a form. Remember the number they give you and then come back when your number is called. They’ll announce it in the parking lot, but they won’t call your phone. If you miss your turn you’ll be the next in line any time before 3pm that same day. I got called at 12:15 and was done with two vaccines (the max you can get typically) by 12:45.
The vet staff was knowledgeable and helped me we determine which were the best vaccines to do that day and how to space them out. The whole session involved some waiting: to figure out which vaccines, go get them, enter the paperwork, and pay. So be prepared if you have an anxious pet—in total we were in the store for 30 min.
Note: they’re only doing 30 pet exams per day so get there early to secure a spot. They were seeing exam #12 around 12:30. As long as you do a weight check with them once a year, you can pick up prescription preventable meds for the store any day, not just on the...
Read moreI agree the vaccine and other check up affordable but I hv this experience very poor , I called yesterday and one staff said I can come and sometime the vet will take a look at my cat slight limping right feet . It might not everytime fox tail. Like you I want to save money being a single mother . I took bus and came there at 10am, I was refused to check in saying vet will not take a look. Assuming it’s fox tail despite my begging He can atleast take a look as I don’t drive. If it’s fox tail and that need invasive treatment ofcourse I will go other place . I hv to come to st Luis Oakland , here luckily vet said no infection n no fox tail . It’s just a small cat bite need abt oral solution . I hv to take bus to travel here as I beg pet vet in elceririto that pls hv a look . We might don’t hv to go all the way at Luis . I came st Luis by bus as I don’t drive . Thanks a lot pet vet for returning me not even take a look. It happened to few months too. They should not give incorrect information that’s vet will take a look for pet limping . Very very disappointed. If I drive it’s ok I can take my cat anywhere , I can’t take uber it’s very expensive too. I came by bus all way to st Luis from pet vet Richmond to home back spending 7 hrs in total with waiting . Thanks so Much . What’s there in just hv a look atleast. U prescribe...
Read moreI went to get my 9 week old puppy’s second DHLP-P shot and they told me I couldn’t, because it was too early. It had been 3 weeks and he was on schedule to get the next one. I explained that I was going out of town for 6 months and I needed to get them done earlier, because I have to board him. The receptionist asked the vet and told me that he “didn’t want to do it”, even though he knew my situation. I told the receptionist that I drove all the way from San Francisco, to get my dog’s shots and she said “aw that’s too bad”. Mind you, that puppies in animal shelters get their shots every 2 weeks, and 3 was definitely enough to get the next one. I have worked at the SF SPCA and 2 different veterinary hospitals, I am well versed in canine health care and I am extremely disappointed because the vet simply “didn’t want to do it”. Will never go back...
