This one is kind of sensitive but it's a good story and about a manager who was so professional and he dealing with this situation. Couple years ago I went up there and bought my first gas-powered weed eater for the house we just bought. When I bought it it wouldn't run so I took it back up there and apparently the gas and oil line or whatever had been swapped so they drained it out. Cleaned it out, put it back together and it worked great from then on. Well about a month or so ago. I couldn't get my weed eater to start because the pull chain and spring had come undone. So I took it back to sutherlands because they had done a decent job before. Although the customer service is much to be desired, they fixed it. However, there were all different parts on it. My throttle switch was relocated. The throttle body itself where the trigger was was completely different and not the same from what I had before and all I needed was the pull string spring replaced. When I went to grab it, it wouldn't start already. I was irritated at the replacement parts I didn't ask for and the high Bill itself just wasn't cutting it for me. So I took it back home and it started but kept dying on me repeatedly. So I was able to get the yard weed eated and trimmed but it wasn't working right and I knew that. I've been in the line service for quite some time and I just know better. Anyways, it ran one more time and then it just stopped working all together and when. I took it up there today. Paul, the manager there was the most professional, most kind and most understanding manager. I think I've ever dealt with it that store. He immediately listened to me and my complaint about the service that I had received for the weed eater. Understood the situation and fixed it. Without hesitation he offered a brand new echo which was a slight upgrade from what I had before which wasn't necessary. I just wanted it fixed but he did what it took to keep my business and so with that being said he will keep my business and I just hope that other associates can read this and understand customer services utmost importance when it comes to doing business with your local community. And seeing as the sutherlands is literally the only lumber yard other than Lowe's, which is probably 25 to 30 minutes away, you really got to keep your locals close. So thank you Paul for all you've done and thank you for everything that you will continue to do for your...
Read moreGreat place actually. Though at 5:30pm not only did I search for help when I got it here knew nothing about the products. Finally found the on sale yet wheel dolly and out of around twenty in stock none had full air pressure in tires. Took 30 minutes for him to actually air the tires up. Think a lumber yard might have air let alone an employee who knew where to get it. Checkout line... Twice I asked a last where to check out. Second time all I said was "MA'AM" LOUDLY since ignored me first time. She answered with a finger pointing to service desk and said over there. Heard me first time no doubt. So there I stood in a line about four deep with a manager standing watching instead of just opening another register to clear is all out. Lots of good products but...
Read moreIt won't let me click 0 stars, I don't even know how this place stays open. Wichita is a good skip and jump away. Every time I come in this store there is 0 customer service and I mean 0. If anyone does chose to speak to you they don't work in that department and can't help you. It's ridiculous I have vowed to always drive the extra 30 mins to Wichita. Today I ad desperate and had to have a new garage door. After 45 mins of no service I had to get to work and left. I complained to the manager Carlos who seemed unfazed and just as caring as any other employee. Tomorrow I will drive from Eureka to Wichita to get a garage door from Menards. It's ridiculous to have to do that when I'm in Eldorado everyday but it is what it is. Thanks for nothing...
