Family Thrift Center — Local services in El Paso

I visited Family Thrift for the first time about a month ago. I have been living in El Paso for more than 2 decades and have never had a chance to visit. The store is fully stocked without dressing rooms, so you need to know your size to a T. The reason for my low, low rating is because I am a tall white, slender female who was treated VERY poorly when I didn't speak Spanish to the lady ringing up my items. She started speaking ill of me to her co-workers before I even had a chance to speak up....in Spanish. I have been married to a 2nd generation Mexican for 20 years, have taken a Spanish Language school in the interior of Mexico and understand & speak Spanish just fine. Gosh these people have the worst customer service ever ! Don’t even think of asking anything !!! I will admit they carry very good brands and clearly the merchandise is from out of town. You can find jerseys for the whole family or even slacks for work … just be ready to be there for a few hours looking for your size or your style. Everything is separated with color and either winter or summer. They will price items very high but because they want people to come back on sale days. I literally just hate going due to the staff !!! I try my best to not ask for anything and TAKE CASH that’s all they accept. They’re “security” literally looks down at people when walking by and the cashiers are not any better !!! I personally like the stuff but hate going due to the staffing !!! Pretty busy place. They only accept cash payments, if that sounds kinda shady to you, then we must think alike. They have thier own ATM machine that charges you $2.95 to give you your balance , even if you don't want to know it. It doesn't tell you that it will charge to check the balance, you find out later when you balance your bank account and see two charge for the same macine. Then the machine charges another $2.95 to dispense the cash. Almost $6.00 to shop at this store if you don't carry cash. They did have good prices on used and new items, and they have an express line for people who have less than 10 items which helped because the line to check out had about 50 people.
