Highly disappointed by Mark, and his behavior on the phone just further disappointed me. I brought my PC in so Mark could set up the AIO on the PC because unfortunately the one that I purchased didn't come with the right screws. Realistically I just needed the screws but I felt a bit awkward that I'm just requesting those so I thought it would be fine to just have him setup the AIO and its surronding fans, it'll be quick and I could just pick up the PC after work. The PC was having a DRAM light on which I knew how to fix but didn't want to attempt to tackle the issue until I had the AIO setup so the PC would stop overheating at the start. Made this very clear multiple times from the first communication to the next 2 calls that came after before I picked it up.
Well 23 hours later from when I originally dropped the PC off, I came into the shop and not only was the AIO not seated, not setup, he didn't even screw it in. He did have the right screws though and did check to see that it worked. But unscrewed all of it so he could attempt to fix the DRAM issue which I made very clear that I didn't want him to work on. He said he spent 2 hours trying to fix the issue which I already knew what could be wrong and could easily fix myself. But ontop of it he did a BIOS update for a motherboard that would most likely be replaced (Once again just needed the mounting screws for the AIO so just wanted to make sure I could set it up when I get a new one) then he tried a CMOS reset. These two actions do not take 2 hours to do, a BIOS update is a quick flash with the USB, and the CMOS reset is just removing the battery for 10mins with all power off. Those solutions come from a 5 second search "DRAM red light on".
I still paid hoping he actually at least setup the Icue fan system yet long behold I got home and found that it wasn't done either. He blamed that I came to pick up the PC before he called me to pickup. We spoke on the phone hours before I picked it up and he said he was working on it, just because he derailed and decided to tackle an issue he had no idea how to fix and I never asked him to do doesn't mean thats my fault. Then he had the audacity to say I have to fix the DRAM issue before putting on "pretty lights on the PC" since there's an order of operations. This man has no idea what he was saying. You wouldn't want to tackle fixing an issue knowing your CPU will overheat and shutting off the PC. That's why I asked for that to be setup. The clear sexism that came from that statement was appalling but with the benefit of a doubt, I wanted to clear up that I build PCs as a hobby for non-profits quite often, I just needed the screws to mount the AIO system, the fact that you would disregard a request from a client which you agreed to, then decided to do what you would like to do just to overcharge them hoping they wouldn't know what those "fixes" are is gross to me.
Anyways will be disputing the charge unless you agree to refunding $50 and you can keep $10 for the screws (still overpaying for it but since you were there at a pinch Ill take the bite in fairness)
Also fixed the PC myself, added a photo so you can see all those...

He did NOT tell me the problem was with my router; there is no problem with my router. What he DID say was that you know nothing about computers and that's why he's helping you. Apparently, he doesn't know anything about computers either. I hope you can't sleep at night knowing that you ripped of a non-profit cat rescue of $80. As for our evangelical message on your business phone - try acting like WWJD. You are going to regret the way you treated us, spoke to me, and stole $80 for doing absolutely NOTHING.
UPDATED response: Your employee, I assume, PROMISED me he would return THIS MORNING - "first thing." Enough said.
In response to your reply to our review: First of all, if you are closed on Sunday, why did Alex promise to be here "first thing in the morning" of TODAY, Sunday? As for a $40 discount: When I contacted you you quoted me $120. I said that I have a guy who is good and comes for $75. You said you could match that. Yet, you charged $80. AND THE PROBLEM IS NOT RESOLVED. I don't want Free anything - I want and expect to receive the services that I paid for in good faith. We will not sit still for this. Refund our $80 immediately, as the job was not done. And why would your employee tell us that you have no idea what you are doing? That you don't know anything about computers? I have a witness who heard him say that. Well, apparently he doesn't know about computers either, as he said it's fixed, and IT...
Read moreVery dissatisfied and concerned that I've been scammed. Alex was sent over by Mark yesterday to fix my desktop. He said that if there was anything still wrong, he would come back right away. I contacted him and told him that it was indeed NOT fixed. He said that he'd come back today "first thing." (Sunday) - as he was just getting out of the shower. I've been trying to reach him and Mark since 8:00 a.m. to no avail. It's now 10:30. I felt it necessary to close out my debit card that he used for the $80 charge and am filing a dispute with my bank to get my money back. I don't like feeling scammed. The odd thing about this is that Alex, who works for Mark, told the almost as soon as he arrived that Mark "doesn't know what he's doing. He doesn't know anything about computers." Apparently, either does Alex, as the problem wasn't fixed. Shame on scamming a nonprofit cat rescue like that. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY. I WAS SCAMMED. HE LIED TO ME THAT HIS TECHNICIAN TOLD ME TO MOVE THE ROUTER CLOSER TO THE COMPUTER, WHICH IS NOT POSSIBLE SINCE IT'S RIGHT NEXT TO IT AND HE NEVER TOLD ME TO DO THAT. SO MARK'S SOLUTION IS TO USE A CABLE INSTEAD OF A ROUTER. NO, NOT GOOD ADVICE. I HAD TO PAY ANOTHER COMPTER GUY TO COME FIX THE PROBLEM, WHICH WAS FIXED. IT WAS DUE TO A VIRUS. THIS...
