(They also install car audio systems & sell nice rims / wheels!)
On a whim during a recent vacation in Florida, I decided that I wanted to get my car's windows tinted. I figured that businesses in FL must do it well since tints are very necessary in the Florida sun. I perused Google search results & chose Sol Control Custom because they were close-by, very helpful via email & because they actively pursued my business. I booked a Saturday appointment for 11am and upon arrival, Lazaro spent time explaining the different films offered & demonstrated the heat control for each film type. He explained the maximum allowable tint laws in FL & in my home state. He knowledgeably offered advice on what level tint to choose for my needs. With understanding of the 5 different types of film & the percentage allowed by law, Lazaro then took us outside to show us different vehicles & which film & percentage tint film was applied to each vehicle. He then walked me to my vehicle & offered recommendations on the tint to select. Then he walked us into the shop where tint was being applied to a new Mercedes SUV & let us watch some of the installation. Upon return to the showroom. I placed my order for the tint & Lazaro agreed to buff out my front headlamp cover's haze for a reasonable price! I turned over my keys & was told they would call when they were finished with the job. I advised them that it took us 20minutes to get there as their hours on Saturday are 9am to 6pm & I didn't want to delay their day's end waiting for me to arrive. The customer service representative taking my order assured me that any delay was fine, "no hurry." (So accommodating & friendly!) Picking up my beautifully completed vehicle about 6pm was a breeze. Customer service deftly completed the warranty information pamphlet & explained the warranty. I paid, received my keys & drove away with beautifully tinted windows, including the headlamp restoration AND my optional choice of a dark tint at the top of my windshield. Sol Control Custom does tinting for autos & home. Honestly, my next vehicle, I will choose the Ceramic tint Film because the heat reduction is the best with the ceramic. Upon a move to Florida, I will be highly considering the Ceramic Film for tinting my home's windows. FYI: preferred payment is cash, check or debit cards.
Lady up front was friendly enough. I think they mean well, however they are not very professional or particularly skilled at what they do.
I had a full system put in. Also, had window tints done.
car stereo DVD player was installed with WRONG bracket. Window tint was bubbly, i showed them before i left and they said it was because it was cold out and that i should, MYSELF, try taking my license and flattening out the bubbles. Really? I just Paid YOU to install my tints, now you are telling ME to fix it?? Also, the cuts were off. The tint did not completely cover the glass. Around the edges, there were areas that had no tint applied. This looked really goofy on the car. Furthermore, it appeared that the installer accidentally nicked/scraped already applied tint throughout the install....as almost all tints had clear scratches. Not to mention, the inside of my car was soaking WET when i got it back. They use steam during the application of the tint. That is ok, but don't return a soaking wet car to a customer. I have had every vehicle i own tinted, never have i received my car back WET before.
Also, Copper wire scraps were left all over the carpet throughout car from the wire cutting/stripping while installing new speakers and subwoofer.
My driver side rear door locks stopped working, also, after they did install....would not open AT ALL. This is the same door where they broke multiple door panel brackets.
The brackets/pins that are used to hold the interior door panel to the door were broken, left throughout car. This caused door panels to be loose/rattle. Had to buy new brackets.
These people are friendly. They offered to fix my car, however after their initial performance and unprofessional job on my car, i was not comfortable returning it to them.
I will not return, and its too bad. I really liked them. If they could back up their good customer service with quality work i would be a repeat customer.
I should have taken the hint when i read the sign they have displayed in the lobby. it reads: "While we strive to be perfect, we cannot guarantee perfection...."
IMO, displaying that sign indicates they have had issues with quality and consistency in their work.
Because of my dealings with this business, i am very dubious of many of the reviews left here and their...

Upon getting there, we were told it would take two hours due to the weather. Two hours pass and no call from the shop. We decide to call and we are told it would be "about" another hour and a half. I had plans that day and needed my car back so we were pretty frustrated. The shop kept blaming it on the amount of fog that day. Then, the shop calls after the hour and a half is up and says that they need to add another part. My boyfriend asked if they had even started on the car yet because if not we were just going to go and pick it up. She insisted they had already started on it. After getting to the shop we waited for a good 10 min before someone helped us when it is clear that we are visibly frustrated that a quoted 1 hour job took almost 5 hours to complete. The lady then tells us that one of the panels was broken on the radio AGAIN blaming it on the weather. She said they would replace the panel at no additional cost. Had to call about 3 times to check on the status of this. The first time we called the guy commented on our attitude that day. Really?? Then he said they were still looking for the part. Had to call about two more times and each time they explained how the panel is over 200 dollars and they didn't want to spend that much money on it. Finally had my panel replaced today. The gentleman helping us today was very fast & got the job done. The lady again commented on how much the panel cost vs how much the installation was at checkout. I understand it was a good $70. However, I don't think the customer needs to know how much it cost when it was your business that made the error. The lack of communication is astounding & had there been more communication and less excuses I probably would have let the fact that a small crack was made in my panel go. Would not recommend to anyone looking for a quick/easy visit,...
