Stay far away from this realty company. We moved into our house in November. We were promised keys in the early afternoon and didn’t get them until late evening. We only received one set and were promised a second. We never received Them and had to have our own made. We have had numerous people enter our backyard without permission, were promised the lawn would be landscaped and it still hasn’t been, we can not control the sprinkler system and we’ve been told no one can help us in regards to it. Our ac has broken numerous times and everyone acts like we’re the biggest inconvenience because of it. When I spoke to Diane about our issues over the phone she was extremely unprofessional and told me “there’s nothing can do to change my mind, and they’ve tried” No apology was offered, she said I took what she said out of context and never offered any solution. We have asked twice for someone to contact us in regards to the lease and no one has. Brielle only helps to get you in a rental home and once you’re in everything is a hassle, and you will hear excuse after excuse as to why something won’t be done, or you won’t hear back period. I suggest renting through any other rental company before stepping foot here. Update: I received a call back from the managing broker. Not only did they say that Diane did nothing wrong. But I was accused of lying about not being home for pickup for portable ac units. It “seemed” like I was lying to inconvenience them when I was on my way to an appointment for my son.
In response: I asked about the “sprinkler system” months ago. I was ever given the answer you gave me until we spoke the other day. I’m simply stating the communication issues we’ve had previously. We were promised landscaping which has never been done. I will admit I did refuse service for someone to come out when we spoke the first time about it a few days ago. As I mentioned on the phone, I didn’t know that was something to put in a work order for. Im not refusing service because I’m particular of someone coming into my yard. I don’t mind if services need to be completed. We prefer to be contacted first for many reasons. We also have a dog who was abused by a man and can be somewhat aggressive. In order to make sure she doesn’t feel threatened, or doesn’t hurt someone we prefer to be notified to make arrangements for her. When I stated I would be home at 4 for the ac pickup, and I wasn’t able to be home until later I was told “so you’re going to withhold ac from someone else.” That was extremely hurtful. I ended up cancelling an appointment for my son. Regardless, the situation the other day was handled inappropriately. All of my questions I’ve had previously were answered when we spoke on the phone. It’s frustrating to hear someone say “well we tried, we can’t change your mind.” I’m sorry, but an apology can go a long way. We wanted to enjoy the time we have left living here. We loved the house, the town, and we were very happy with Elgin Realty...
Read moreupdated to 1 star!!!* 12/30 - Requested move out report for proof of cleaning and inspection with no response. There were so many things wrong with the home now that it’s in our possession. Spoke to the neighbors and they said they informed Elgin Realty MONTHS ago of the tenant’s dog digging holes along the fence line and they never addressed it*
As military service members stationed overseas, we trusted Elgin Realty to manage our home rental, but our experience was deeply disappointing. While the property was rented most of the time, it sat vacant for the last three months. When we requested to lower the rent, there was a delay in response, and we had to follow-up again. They claimed the market was “slow.” However, once we lowered the rent ourselves on Zillow, we received multiple applications within 3 days. This delay seemed to reflect either a lack of market understanding or misplaced priorities.
When the final tenants moved out, the property was left in poor condition: a broken patio door, missing towel rings, a damaged door stopper, scorch marks on the brick wall, and trash left behind. Multiple burnt-out light bulbs and general disrepair suggested the home wasn’t properly maintained. Despite requesting a final move-out inspection report and asking why these damages weren’t mitigated through the tenant’s security deposit, my email was ignored entirely. We had to pay for deep cleaning and repairs out of pocket, a responsibility we expected the management company to address.
Elgin Realty’s lack of oversight, poor communication, and failure to hold tenants accountable made an already challenging situation worse. As a military family, we trusted Elgin Realty completely and even recommended their services to others—something we now deeply regret. Discovering the damages during the inspection and knowing our home was shown in such a condition is unacceptable. For military families or anyone relying on dependable property management, I strongly advise seeking an...

What kind of professional attacks a customer on social media. I would not recommend these people to my worst enemy. They have many one star reviews below.
They like to push newer homes so they can make tons of money and they don’t care about the clients trying to sell their older homes. Would never get responses from Relator. I would avoid. They also did not use their own photos they used our previous relators photos. (Which learned is against Relator board rules). They ignored my emails and did not show the house once. They blamed their laziness on the market being slow when she would tell me at the same time that she had 3 other houses under contract. They never checked on the house (we have cameras) It was freezing cold in our house, it needed to be cleaned and mail was left everywhere. We live in Massachusetts and they didn’t even have the decency to check on the house once. So they thought it was ok to just leave our house to be shown dirty!!! We have no family within 60 miles. The previous Relator had health issues not that it’s any of your business why we changed relators. We have every right to change if we see our Relator being lazy like you were. You do not deserve our business. You only told us about one open house so either you are lying or didn’t do your job and tell us how they went. Open houses do not work in a place with low traffic like Elgin people are not pre qualified. You were our Relator for FIVE MONTHS you had a lot of time, not just a few months like you are lying about. Our contract was from 8-7-19 and you were fired on 1/2/20. You were fired because you ignored 3 emails I sent over a month long period. So don’t lie and say oh we’re “trying to...
