Burritos Mico — Restaurant in Elgin

Went for dinner tonight. All the way from cache. Tonight was our third time here. I think the last time we were here was October 2024. Tonight was the worst food/service we’ve had here. My youngest ordered his kids quesadilla first. Then my oldest and I split 3 quesobirria tacos. My husband got the quesobirria meal. The tortillas were burnt and the meat tasted sweet. My son had a single bite. I was hungry and had maybe 4 bites. I had to ask for someone to go get my youngest’s food after we waited atleast 10 minutes with him not having the easiest meal still. I walked to the bar and asked for a woman to find our server so I could ask him for the food that was missing and she said I’m the manager what do you need. So I told her. Never apologized or anything.

This is my second attempt here. Both times ordeeed the Mico Burrito. From the description this is a classic “cali burrito” Fries and bacon take the place of rice and beans. The first time they put rice and beans on it even though that’s not included in the description. Today the “carne asada” looked like old boiled ground beef (see attached photo). When I spoke to the server and another person and showed them pictures of what was on their own menu and googled pictures of carne asada - they said that’s just how we do it here. Update: we’ve been there quite a bit since my first post. Yesterday was my first poor service. A server dropped salsa behind me and didn’t offer a napkin, say sorry etc. It was very obvious it was on me. He looked right at my bag. It got all over my leather purse, the back of my shirt and hair. I really love this restaurant, but that was a very poor experience. We actually paid for the next two tables beside us and we still tipped him very well despite that. My server was wonderful though.

Quesabirria was great, massive to go cups and not overpriced. The charro beans reminded me of how it was growing up! 🤤 Atmosphere is nice and it smells very clean inside. Queso isn’t free, a small dish was $4, but it’s worth it for two people. Check...
