Curt's Ace Hardware — Local services in Elizabethton

We have a Lowe's in our town but Home Depot is about 10 miles away in Johnson City. Our local Lowe's seems more concerned with providing bodies to fill their red vests and not providing experienced employees on the floor to assist with customer's needs and questions. A friend suggested I try our local Ace. Honestly didn't know we had one. So I took his advice. I was immediately greeted and found a brightly lit, very clean store. An employee met me and asked if he could help, he took me to their air hose display and shared some tips and then left me to shop and decide. I found what I was looking for and headed for the register. Lo and behold they had a cashier, not a self service check out station. The cashier was very friendly even commented on my purchase. I paid and left, happy with my purchase and experience. My experience? I had a need, I went into a store that I didn't have to walk a hundred yards to find an empty aisle with poorly stocked shelves, with no help to ask a question of, and then have to walk back up front only to find the one cashier who was manning the four self check out stations who told me she would call a manager to help me. While Lowe's dwarfs our Ace Hardware in size it more than makes up for it in service. I had a need, found what I needed, paid for it and went home to work on my tractor. No one pressuring me to sign up for this card or try to sell me something I didn't need. Horrible employees all 3, there were 3 men there, all were not helpful, not friendly and down right mean. I went in for a snow shovel, and asked about it then got a rude answer from all 3. And walked out. I’ll never go back in there. I would rather make the longer drive to lowes in Elizabethton then go back in there. And as for any professionals that want to do business there…they wont let you use their bathroom…dont even go there, choose browns, or lowes…i hope they go out...

What an absolute great store! Someone was right there when I needed advice. Prices were palatable and not as high as we thought. I think whenever I needed help, there was someone close by...... not hovering just there when needed. better than the big box stores.!!! Curts Ace Hardware the best place for all your home needs!!
