Party Plus — Local services in Elizabethtown

On November 1, 2025 I visited Party Plus with my son's girlfriend to check for post-Halloween discounts. We were privately discussing the overprice of an item when the owner abruptly confronted us in a rude and hostile tone.

She said can I help you but that's not what she meant. My son's gf asked if there were any discounts on the Halloween stuff. She said it's 30% off decor that's up front. But not on Halloween items? She snapped that discounts only applied to decor, then sarcastically said costumes aren't decor now is it? My son's girlfriend said I was just asking a question. I wasn't trying to be rude. Then the owner said she heard us and is sick of everyone complaining about Party Plus. She accused us of being rude and ordered us to leave the store. To which we did immediately and will never return.

This behavior was completely uncalled for and unprofessional. We were respectful customers making a normal inquiry about sale prices. Being told to leave a store for merely expressing an opinion about pricing is unacceptable.

I believe customers deserve to be treated with basic courtesy and respect. The owner’s actions created a hostile and embarrassing situation for no valid reason. I will not be returning ever and I want others in our community to be aware of how this business treats paying customers.

I hope this business takes accountability and improves how it interacts with shoppers. No one should be made to feel unwelcome for asking simple questions or expressing a reasonable opinion privately on items that are overpriced. Based on her snarky clap backs to the public for shared experiences on this review forum it clearly displays the lack of emotional maturity for feedback...

Only giving 2 stars, because of the prices, I went in to get balloons (like you'd get at Walmart or dollar store for $2-$5) for one balloon it was $15. Yes $15 for 1 balloon. I could understand if it was like multiple balloons, but this was 1 balloon. Other than that the staff was very friendly and very helpful, I ended up our purchasing a game, (which was $6, and smoke flares which were $3.99 ea. And a couple little things, my total for everything I bought was $19.00. didn't get much for that price. I think if they were to lower there prices on a few things just a tad, I'd consider giving it more stars, but $15 balloon is...

I went to this store for the first time ever on 02/13/2025 looking for balloons for a coworker who was retiring. Custom service is extremely important to me and even more-so in a small business setting. This business did not offer my son & I the communicate and attention that I prefer within a business. Needless to say, we left. I’m not sure if the employees were distracted by the fact that my child LoOkS dIfEReNt than the “societal expectation” or if they are just generally that rude.
