We are new to the area and didn't know about the market. We were about to pass it during an aimless weekend drive. As soon as I saw the sign, I swerved into a parking space. I can't resist a fruit stand.

Imagine my astonishment as I entered the store to find half the market is a vast array of every kind of candy imaginable. A huge space filled with countertops of chocolate bob-bons and the colorful delicacies of childhood.

My husband thinks chocolate is a major food group. He can't stand watching me choose tomatoes from a produce bin, so I couldn't get him out of the car.

I spent 20 minutes buying him 2 pounds of his favorite chocolates.

I never made it to the produce section.

If you have never been to Candyland, located inside the Hilltop Fruit Market in Grantsville, MD, you have to stop if you are ever through the area! The kids will love you for it! 900 varieties of candy! Have a sweet tooth? This is your place!

We arrived with 7 of us. 3 of which we our grandchildren. They have a ton of candy to choose from. They offer sugar free selections as well in their chocolate candies as well as some hard candies when you first walk in. The range of the candy selection for bulk candy is fairly priced at $4.39@pound i believe. The offer fruits and vegetables. Baking chocolates and flavoring. We were there the first weekend in October and pumpkins were bountiful and very reasonably priced. They also had pie pumpkins for the bakers and canners! Enjoy...
