I have been a timeshare owner of Woodstone Meadows at Massanutten Resort for many years, I unfortunately over the past several years I have found that the resort at Massanutten has over sold their capability to provide good customer services. They first engage in a high-pressure sales pitch and make promises that now don't keep or care that the changes causes the owners an inconvenience. When you call to talk to Massanutten management about your challenges, they resort staff refuses to provide any management services. Specifically, as an owner you could select the unit you wanted after paying your annual maintenance fees, now you get assigned the next unit available at the time you check in. Those maintenance fees have greatly increased over the last three years. With the maintenance increase the services provided have decreased and the cleanliness of the units are deplorable. They have now added an occupation tax when you check- in and charge outrageous prices for everything. There's no advantage to being an owner at this resort and I have looked at selling my two units due to my dissatisfaction and find that I cannot sell my units for what I paid in 2004. In fact the retail price is about half of the value. If you're dumb enough to buy one expect to lose on your investment! Massanutten Resort is still existing off their previous reputation, currently the management of the resort will be lucky to be in operation in the next few years, certainly not when people find out about the current miss-management and lack of customer service being provided. Read moreIt is okay here. The room was clean but what gives it 3 stars was that 2 out of 4 bath towels were stained with brown and black spots. We called housekeeping to request these be replaced and left a message. We were here for a whole week and called on our first day. We never received new towels or any information on how to get new ones. This is disappointing-check your towels Massanutten-even if they are clean, they don't always look clean-gross. The pull out couch will destroy your back-springs galore! It was a long week of no sleep, which could explain my negative mood.
Pretty frustrated that we came to get away from life but got phone calls to our room after already saying we were not interested, but still asking if we wanted to meet and get a free meal (which we finally did and good thing it was free because it was pitiful) but then spent literally from 9am-3pm one day of our vacation hearing the sales pitch. We don't get alot of opportunity to get away so that was a frustrating day for us. If you don't want to have to deal with another day of business life-do not come here! We were warned by friends but got reeled in anyways.
Activities are good-our children had a great time with those. Water park was clean and well run, skiing was also pretty well run. Tubing was a blast! Staff at all these places are nice...
Read moreLet me start with I’m an owner at this resort and have been here multiple times; I like to travel and definitely experience different types of accommodations so I’m not nitpicking today.
However, this is probably the worst place (Woodstone) I have been to this date; perhaps it’s just the unit. I’ve stayed at the Summit and a few other units in the resort and feels relax upon arrival, not this time.
Checking in June 25-July 2nd, the check-in time at 9PM was longer than 15 minutes, tolerable after a 4hr drive from Wake Forest, NC. The unit 171 K&E is the biggest issue here. It smells urine as upon opening the vestibule door into the two adjacent units. Inside then unit is not any different. To top the smell, stains on the floor which resembles either mud or $#!+. I called to get housekeeping to come unfortunately at 11PM, there’s nobody available so I have to wait until the following day. To mask the smell, I had to dilute dish soap in the sink, but that can only do so much as the urine/mildew smell is noticeable. Woke up with a terrible headache this morning and already called the front desk, and almost half an hour later, have to gotten a call back.
At this point, Id drive back home rather than stay at this dump. Extremely disappointed, I’ll update once or if I hear anything back from management about...
