Valley Play Museum — Local services in Ellensburg

Amazing new place for family fun!

Valley Play Museum is something Ellensburg has needed for a long time! Local families love it, and its close proximity to I-90 exits 106/109 will make it really convenient for families traveling through the area (place for kids to get a break from the car, coffee for parents, a nice restroom w/ changing table, also close to all the gas/fast food places!)

We visited in the morning for the grand opening, and came back in the afternoon because we had a day pass and my kids wanted to go again! Over the 3+ hours we were there I saw babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary kids all having a blast. I wasn't sure if my elementary school kids would enjoy it or if it was more tailored to littles, but my kids played and explored for hours and saw many of their school friends there too!

My favorite things after these 3+ hours: -kids absolutely love it, and won't get bored anytime soon -there's plenty of comfortable seating for parents, couches and cafe tables near the play area and/or you can walk around with your kids in the museum for free -the coffee was really good, and very reasonably/lower priced than other places in Eburg -it's designed for kids to explore safely and independently. Even the bathroom had step stools and everything within reach so my kindergartener could use it independently. -it's beautiful, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing

Cons? The only con I can think of is, there's some amazing souvenirs/stuffed animals/building toys for sale on the wall near the coffee, and my kids want all of the things, so I'll have to tell them on future visits we can't buy something every time we go there :) But truly there's no cons so far, it seems the directors thought of everything and I'm excited to see the exhibits rotate...

We have enjoyed our visits to Valley Play Museum! My kids are almost 3yo and 17 months and have so much fun! Lots of activities for the kids, open space and easy to see you children play and a beautiful space to be in and talk with other moms while playing with your kids! Fun and playful atmosphere, pretend dentist's office was so real, (such a cool computer!) and good cocoa. A wider variety of activities for kids over 10 would be nice, although this is the happy place for the younger chunk of kids who come. I think this is a great place to take your kid on your free time.
