Fugate's — Local services in Englewood

If you are the type of person who cares about the kind of people you give your money to, I recommend avoiding Fugate’s and spending your money at the many other wonderful shops in Boca Grande.

My mother, who has a cochlear implant, suffers from dementia and requires assistance walking, and I were in this shop in January 2023. Both the young shop girls and an older woman (who I assumed to be the owner/manager) made uncouth remarks regarding my mother’s awkward gait (I had to steady a gaudily decorated fake Christmas tree as she passed by it) then proceeded to make us feel even more unwelcome when I remarked to my mother that I didn’t think she should support the business by spending her money there by making snide comments about my mother getting turned around as she looked for the exit.

If you frequent the lovely island of Boca Grande, there are many many shops that offer more to the visitor and local alike than this overpriced...

I bought a pair of Sperry sandals and the sole on both shoes started to separate 6 weeks light use. I paid $53 and called the store to inform them of the situation. I was told to call back on Monday as the owner was going to be in that day. I called Monday and again was told the owner was not in. I called a third time. Never got to speak to the owner (who was there) and told no return after 30 days, Store policy. I can't believe they would be selling merchandise that can't hold up for 30-42 days. I wasn't even offered store credit. I live here locally, I am not a tourist. When they say shop locally and support our small shop owners! Well take it from me ..... DON'T SHOP Here! Waste...

Love this place! Shopped at this store many of times. Great selection of clothes. Has a variety of brands. People who work there are super helpful and go out of their way. I recently called, asking to see if they had a shirt for my wife. Manager checked and said she'd would mail it to me. They don't normally ship products but like i said, nice people who treat their...
