This place is great. We shop here weekly for our groceries. It's cheaper in the long run. They have a wide variety of stuff. I'm giving it 3 stars bcz it's doesn't have a variety of gluten free options, and it's a mission to get them to special order anything esp if you have food allergies. I put in a request for a bunch of gluten free foods, organic meats and stuff and they told me they couldn't special order any of it. Please at least carry unfrozen gluten free breads. So many people on post have allergies and it's difficult for families to find these things at Walmart or publix and the commissary is the closest to us.
The deli at the commissary makes fresh sandwiches but all of them are meat based, no vegeterian options at all, which is a damn shame. They do sell fresh sushi, though. I would pay whatever they charge for vegeterian, vegan sandwiches or other healthy lunch options and they are so cheap and easy to make. Please consider offering more deli stuff and carry more gluten free stuff for people with allergies.
Staff here is pretty friendly at checkout, but strict about looking at your ID. Idk who else would be shopping at the commissary if they weren't military and if you leave or forget your ID You can't buy anything so can't leave that behind. Make sure you don't...
Read moreThis place needs less than one star. While as a vet the prices are good. The BAGGERS are atrocious. They will get extremely irate with you if you tell them you don’t need help. In fact the gentleman TODAY working register number 1, told me I needed to ASK the cashier for them not to bag my groceries. The last time I checked I don’t work there, I don’t need to ask anyone permission, they need to ASK me before throwing all of my stuff in the cart and trying to walk off with it!!! I can take my own groceries to my vehicle….I wasn’t alone either I had my husband and one of my children with me. You volunteer to work there knowing you only get tips, but as consumers we DO NOT have to tip you!!!!! I’m so tired of everyone thinking they are ENTITLED to tips. The biggest issue is they start off being rude first and expect the customers to just take it, and the managers are never anywhere to be found and the customer service ladies are all giggling in the back not at their desks and ignoring customers that come to their desk. Absolutely PATHETIC. And it seems after ALL these complaints nothing...
Read moreAll of the staff members are wonderful with the exception of the fact that the baggers get nasty if they realize you don't have a tip for them. I thought I had cash for one guy, (forest Gump looking guy with a wild beard and glasses) and when I realized that I didn't, he was incredibly rude to me, rolling his eyes, glaring and stomping off like a child. He didn't even let me explain, I was floored. Another time, a bagger lady was super sweet until I said I wouldn't need help out that day. She immediately began slamming my groceries down into my cart, glaring and quit talking to me entirely. She literally did a 180, going from sweet and talkative to just a nasty toddler attitude. I get that they work for tips, but they KNOW that the position is voluntary and thus unpaid, so having a bad attitude about something they KNOW may happen is absolutely appalling to me. Going from being kind and sweet to nasty and as far as to damage my food is insane. Literally my only complaint about the staff, everyone else is absolutely amazing...
