Santerre's Stones 'n Stuff — Local services in Epping

This store absolutely rocks. It’s frustrating to see people bashing the staff in their review comments for simply being diligent about helping people and making sure their products aren’t stolen. It’s never personal to be watched carefully here. Even the most loyal customers still get watched after having been here for years. Honestly, how can you blame them?! Ethically sourced genuine stones are precious and should be governed with care, so how can anyone sit there and put them down for keeping an eye on their merchandise while doing their best to educate consumers in the process?…. Get over yourselves people. Maybe try actually talking to the staff instead of treating them like they’re only there to serve at your whim. They’re all lovely and perfectly kind hearted individuals when you actually take a couple seconds of your high-horses’ time to connect with them. We’re all human. Try treating them as such :) This shop is by far one of the best around. 10/10...

The pros: Excellent selection of many types of beads, and great selection of unique stones, cabochons, gift items, and minerals. I came in for a custom stone cutting request which Neil was happy to oblige, he is very knowledgeable about stones, minerals, and how they are formed, and also very friendly.

The cons: My daughters (high school age) and I could have done without being followed and watched like a hawk by one of the store associates. It got uncomfortable to the point they both wanted to leave while I conducted my business. It was awkward to say the least. I get that there are many expensive breakable items but they were mainly looking at the tumbled stones and pendulums on the counter. I don't feel like that was warranted in any way, seeing as how I was supervising them and making sure they did not handle delicate merchandise. Just take it down a notch is all I'm saying. Great store...

I'd like to take a few moments to share my experience shopping here for special stones that I need to complete projects I'm working on whether it be a piece of jewelry or for any kind of art project. It's a little bit of a travel for me however every time I take the chance to order online, I am usually disappointed unless it's something ordinary.

I found this business over five years ago and have never been disappointed. The owner is extremely helpful answering my questions about stones or more recently on how he attached his trees to stones. It was something I had never done and wasn't sure how it was done.

I will continue to shop here when I need that special piece again. I recently made a Yggdrasil tree sculpture using a Norse mythology theme that someone requested and I think he will be pleased especially knowing I used high quality gems in this.
