Les Schwab Escalon just lost a customer for life. Got our Buick Park Avenue aligned & balanced here, and it was great. The 2 older gentlemen who we interaced with were very nice, so we took my Plymouth here to get aligned. I got a different tech than my husband did the first time, "Isidro F G," and his customer service was absolutely terrible.
He did the alignment and afterwards told me the (newly installed) shocks and CV axles needed to be replaced because my car was making a thumping noise when turning the wheel. He said when we get it fixed, whether we do it at Les Schwab or do it ourselves, he would align it again if we do it before the 30-day warranty is up. My husband and a friend, both mechanics, took a look at my car and diagnosed the inner tie rod ends as being worn out. They were so bad, the wheels had so much play in them that you could grab them and shake them around by hand. We don't know how the tech did not notice that was the actual problem causing the thumping. We replaced the tie rod ends, and the thumping is now gone.
My husband dropped off the car today to get it realigned under warranty as they said they would do, and he left. When my husband already had walked all the way home, Isidro called for him to come back and get the car because he decided he wasn't going to do it free anymore, even though they said that it was ok when the car was just dropped off, and over the phone when I made the appointment. Isidro then asked which parts HE said we needed to replace last time, as he didn't remember. My husband reminded him, and then he said, "Well, I can't do it for free." He even told my husband that he doesn't remember telling me he would do the alignment again, as if I would lie about that.
Why would we replace brand new, good parts just because he misdiagnosed the problem? We have attached a video of the worn-out tie rod ends. My suspension is not blown out. The parts are brand new and the car rides just fine. We know what poor suspension feels like, the car used to ride awfully before we repaired it. When we got back there, Isidro spoke to my husband like he is an idiot and started an argument with him about the shocks being bad.
It's not even about the money to us. If you are going to offer a service, it is extremely poor customer service to revoke it for essentially no reason. We did what he said, we replaced parts that caused the noise he had described. The car would still be thumping if we only touched the suspension. Just wrong. Very disappointed, we will unfortunately be taking our business elsewhere due to the way we were treated by this tech. My husband and I moved to Escalon with 8 of our cars that we intended to have alignments & tires done on each of them here when the time came, but this recent experience ruined that entirely. It's unfortunate because everyone else who works here seems awesome. We really wanted to keep...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreYeah I wasnāt to pleased with the service today I took my Camaro SS in to get all new tires installed all around that I supplied and get an alignment. I dropped the car off at 2:15pm and came back at 5:05pm because the person in the office told me maybe around 4:30 pm it would be done. When I got there the technician had started my car and I can see the other employee telling the person driving to rev it ,which he did! so I met him outside to tell him please drive my car respectfully because he was already revving it. I passed on the alignment because I heard the tech that was gonna do my alignment say he worked on another car and the axle bolts were loose so he only tightened the ones he can reach and left the opposite side axle with 2 bolts ! Where do you find these mechanics ? Ifelt like not only did the tech joy ride my car, there quote to repair my tie rods was ridiculous. Iāve personally never had a tech drive one of my cars before an alignment to see if the car pulls one way , isnāt that what the alignment machine is for ? Asking me to rev the car is one thing but your mechanic doing it on my expense sounds crazy to me ! Get better employees Les Schwab⦠IF YOUR EMPLOYEES CARED THEY WOULDNT BE DOING BURNOUTS ON CLOUGH AVE with my brand new tires! This is a road I take leaving Escalon to work and a road I take coming homeā¦No marks were on this road at 5:00pm when I was going to Les Schwab and when I left Les Schwab at 5:30pm there were 3 burnout marks so if I had to take a guess your employees do not take pride in working on another persons vehicle let alone when...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI absolutely love this establishment! I regularly check my tires to make sure everything is good to go. Originally, I went to another tire shop to see what condition my tires were in. However, I was shocked to hear my tires were in such bad condition, the associate highly advised me to buy a new set of tires. Immediately, I felt uncomfortable and felt being taken advantage of. I knew they couldn't have been that bad. Wanting to get a second opinion, the next day I went to Les Schwab. Without mentioning my prior experience, I simply asked for air in my tires and what condition my tires were. To my surprise, Armando (the associate that was assisting me) said my tires were still in good condition and not to worry . Armando was immensely friendly and informative. He even noticed I was missing air cap on one of my tires. He gave me one with no charge. What I appreciated the most about Les Schwab and Armando are that they respect their customers. Being that I am a woman, I feel establishments like these usually target woman into fearful situations where we are forced to buy expensive products just to benefit the sellers. Obviously this isn't the case with Les Schwab. I can say with assurance, Les Schwab is a great place where they value...
