Chocolate Geeks in Essex is a must-visit for any chocolate lover! I tried the truffle shot and the chocolate chip cookie. While the truffle shot was great, the real star of the show was the cookie. It was the best chocolate chip cookie I’ve ever had in my life! It was perfectly soft with a crispy outside, not too sweet, and had just the right hint of saltiness that balanced everything beautifully. It’s no wonder they have so many awards in the chocolate community. I met the owner at the duck shop next door, and as he was explaining all the chocolate awards, I just had to check it out for myself. The wife and daughter were at the chocolate shop, and they were so kind and generous with their time, explaining all the intricacies of the world of chocolate that I had no idea of. This is a gem, and if you have time, you must stop here!

Their chocolate chips cookies are amazingggg. We got them from fresh out of the oven. They sell out fast so I suggest going when they first open to make sure you get a cookie! We had a taste of their truffle shot and it was very rich and delicious. They have quite a selection of chocolate bars from various different brands - from milk to dark with different flavours etc. It’s a bit expensive. Will definitely be coming back for more cookies!

I wandered in this shop while strolling on Main Street. What a find for chocolate lovers! The woman that helped me explained the different types and % of dark chocolates. They’re curated from all over the world and beautifully wrapped. The two bars I got were outstanding. Definitely will be back. Also, this would be a great shop to get a gift for chocolate lovers.

My husband and I spent the weekend in Essex, CT, a lovely, charming historic town. This is where we came upon Truffle Shots. Intrigued by the store’s name and driven by our love of rich, creamy chocolate confections we entered the small quaint shop. The owner was super-friendly and offered us tastings of a variety of Truffle Shot flavors like, salted-caramel, signature dark, and a new flavor, and my personal favorite, flowers of Sicily. As we were on our way to a family gathering, we purchased a wonderful assortment and, needless to say, the Truffle Shots were a huge hit and everyone raved! The delicious, rich, creamy, high-quality, chocolate ganache in each shot glass is exquisitely prepared with subtle flavor profiles to satisfy the savviest chocolate connoisseurs. I highly recommend you go out of your way to find Truffle Shots and savor this delightful treat. It will be...

Definitely make this one of your stops while you're in Essex. My daughter and I would often visit Truffle Shots when they were on North Main street across from the Essex Art Association. We were excited to see them move to their current location, in the former Christmas shop, knowing it was a brilliant decision. The Griswold did a really nice job renovating the space, although it's tighter than the original Truffle Shots store. And yet, they've added so much more to their delicious line up like chocolate chip cookies and a hot chocolate bar with some unusual spices. Their service is always friendly and helpful. Some flavors sell out quickly, especially around the weekends. You'll find plenty of parking in the back and there are lots of other fun stores...
