Essex Coffee and Tea Company — Restaurant in Essex

Today was my first time adventuring through Essex, CT. First off, I love the location of this coffee shop--a charming little town with friendly locals. The inside of the cafe is small yet comfortable and inviting; as though you're visiting a friend or reltiave's house. The staff are so kind and prompt with their service. I also love the selection of drinks and food available; from your standard (amazing) coffee/tea options to Avery's soda (including the "Totally Gross Soda" line) to the variety of fruit-based and chocolate desserts and pastries (some gluten-free options too!). It's the kind of atmosphere and town that makes you want to come back as a cozy Sunday (if not daily) tradition. I'd live in this town if I could! This place is great! It has a very low key vibe with a rotation of nice art on the walls each month. Lots of locals frequent here and the coffee is good and the espresso nice and strong as I like it. They have a large selection of Rishi tea too. The yummy treats in the display all look so tempting. Chocolate dipped macaroons are the winner for me though! Great staff, they make the place warm...

Nice place right on the main street in Essex. The cashier was very friendly. I was one of only 3 people in the place at first. It all went well until the barista decided to make the 5 drinks for the guy who came in after me first. It appeared that the customer was friends with the people working. Shouldn't have happened. I can only hope it was an oversight and not a blatant jump...
