The salesmen vultures at this place are worse than a car dealership these days, new management? I took my 8 year old there with a couple small scale RC cars we own. Didn't see a price on the board for using the two small tracks. Started to drive, didn't make a lap before being swarmed by 3 salesman. It's $10 to drive on the track, ok, no each, really my batteries will last maybe 20 minutes man, fine here's $20, just hoping they would leave us alone so I could spend some time with my son and try to get him interested in the hobby again. Started to try the second track. No, that's another $20, really man, I probably have 10 minutes of battery life left. Can I just drive on the concrete that has been here since it was a grocery store. Still they stalked, smirking at our low standard RC cars and trying to push us to pay hundreds to buy theirs or another $20 to rent them. I didn't get a solid 5 minutes to bond with my son, he wanted to leave so bad. Then another approach, son get your things, were leaving now! I should have taken him to an amusement park, trampoline park, a museum, anything, would have been alot more fun, more time, cheaper and more to do. We used to come drive for free for 20-30 minutes, talk with other customer hobbyist then shop in the store and buy him a couple toys, parts for my Traxxas trucks i use at home, etc, not anymore. I wouldn't have minded paying maybe $5 or $10 for the little time we planned to drive on the track, and some privacy to enjoy the moment before all the sales pitches, rental fees, and rules thrown at us, but I felt like it would cost the title to my car and deed to my house if I stayed any longer at the pace we were progressing. They completely took the fun out of that whole experience. My son never wants to go back. We liked the old track better and the other guys we customers we talked to about about their neat larger scale cars. This time there were more salesman than customers and no joy whatsoever. I placed an order online. They called me the next day and said they had a limit on the amount I could purchase. I was completely fine with this, asked them what the limit was, and what/if I needed to do anything to hold that amount for me. They said no and they would hold the packs for me no problem. I live over an hour away, but drove down the next day. I waited in line about 15-20 minutes watching as they helped people that were in line behind me completely ignoring me. They knew these people and it was my first time there so I don’t get any special privileges. Fair enough. In my time waiting I noticed there was quite a price difference from online to in store ($4.49 vs. $5.99). Finally someone acknowledges me, I show them the product I ordered for pickup on their own site, and I asked if they were going to honor their price posted on the website. Of course they told me no. Everyone be aware if you are looking at prices online to not expect that price in store. Extremely disappointing. They could have at least let me know this over the phone instead of...

A big thank you to the HobbyTown staff — Dick, Baylee, and Cory — for their outstanding service! We originally purchased an RC Bulldozer that unfortunately didn’t work right out of the box. When we returned to the store, the team immediately took care of us. Dick went above and beyond by upgrading our purchase to an AX4 Crawler, setting it up, and even testing it before we left the store to make sure everything worked perfectly. This unit is for our grandson at Riley’s in Indianapolis, and it’s imperative that it works properly right out of the box.

Kudos to the entire HobbyTown crew for their professionalism, knowledge, and customer-first attitude. It’s a huge plus to have an onsite repair team that not only services equipment but also takes the time to set up and train customers on their units. Big box stores can’t match that kind of personal service. We left with confidence and excitement thanks to their help. Highly recommend HobbyTown!
