Sequoia Vacation Rentals Inc. — Local services in Exeter

Sequoia Vacation Rentals discriminates against people with disabilities.

I had an extremely negatively experience with this company when I contacted them on Airbnb about a property I was interested in renting. Shelia Stone at Sequoia Vacation Rentals told me that this property would not accept any service animals despite the fact that such a rule violates Airbnb's policy and likely California law. Instead of apologizing when I confronted them, Sequoia Vacation Rentals rescinded my preapproval to stay there and told me that I lack "consideration" and "compassion[] to other people" with dog allergies. The company has since been suspended from Airbnb for their conduct (thankfully), but I am disappointed that they will be able to continue to operate independently when they conduct themselves in such an unprofessional and discriminatory manner. Airbnb's policy is very clear about the service animals and balancing the need to accommodate service animals with an owner's allergies. We stayed at Hope's Vista (reserved via Vrbo) Great Place

The views are spectacular. What a fantastic property. My son works for the Park Service and everyone who didn't have a place to go for Thanksgiving was invited. We had quite a crowd for Thanksgiving dinner. It was great. So many new friends. Introduced them all to Allice’s Restaurant by Arlo Guthrie.

There were four of us who stayed there, plus a dog. The place was clean and quiet. Sheila, the host, is a rock star. Always answered her calls and texts if we had questions. We have no complaints. I would like to thank Sheila and Sequoia Vacation Rentals for their patience and understanding during the crazy 2020 and 2021 fire seasons. I did not have the pleasure to visit (due to the KNP Complex Fire), however, my experience with Sequoia Vacation Rentals in the pre-trip and “fire” phases was excellent. I hope that I can come to visit and stay in one of their cabins in the coming years.
