Impressed by the decor as you walk in. Right away this place smelled not like the run-of-the-mill antique store: it doesn't have the "grandma's house" smell. It's definitely... different.
The vibe that hits immediately is more "man cave" than "grandma basement". Not sure if that was intentional, but that was my feel. There's quite a bit to look: an upstairs space, and a basement as well. The offerings in the basement definitely felt like bottom shelf wares. I didn't get a chance to check the upstairs.
Very interesting was the hidden Carla's Cafe tucked in at the end of the 1st floor: over a dozen small tables in the back, with an interesting set up with a small kitchen that, according the menu, offer a wide variety of choices for breakfast. I think it has a non-breakfast menu as well, but I didn't get to see it. The place was closed when I visited, but the man there said it had won breakfast place of the year twice in the last two years. Prices seemed normal, but without having the opportunity to try or see them, I don't know if it's a good value. Due to its location, it does pique the interest to check it out someday if I...
Read moreI was in Columbia, Ohio the other weekend when I stumbled across this hidden jem. There is always cool stuff in an antiques store, and I was not disappointed. This place had a second floor & basement as well for your antique hunting adventure. I can truly say this place had everything, I’m not sure what you are looking for, but I’m pretty sure it’s in there. I enjoyed walking around and looking at all the once love items that now need a new home. I found a few Longaberger baskets that I had to have. The staff is super awesome & helpful, asking if there was anything I was looking for. I also discovered that there is a small Cafè inside, Clara’s Corner Cafè. I was going to try and get a table, but it was completely full, every table taken. So, next time in there I will definitely, go early & get something to eat. I really enjoyed my time here, exploring & looking for nik naks & keepsakes. This was indeed a proper antiques store. I strongly recommend you stop in and give this...
Read moreAwesome little joint. Cool stuff, amazing food in the cafe. I got a grilled cheese with gouda, bacon and honey crisp apples(whodathunkit) on sour dough. Delicious. The server asked me about every couple min. if everything was o.k. and if I needed anything. Shot the breeze with one of the owners while waiting on my food and just super nice people all around. Will def. be back to try the breakfast as the lady sitting next to me had some kind of breakfast mash up and it looked amazing. Just a genius idea of serving good food in an antique store. Everybody gets hungry when they're picking. And don't believe the one bad review about not letting them use the bathroom. Nice clean...
