I hired this company to help pack. First I wanna start off by saying the guys that came were nice and tried really hard. I was moving across county and needed everything packed and I only had the garage left. I scheduled a month early.. they rescheduled on me a few days before they were supposed to come out ⌠no big deal. Two guys show up and I showed them where I needed them and got the boxes and the tape that they needed. I asked them what they needed from me and they said just tell us what you want packed but they didnât really know because they were never taught to pack and when they asked the boss they were told they didnât need to be taught to pack. they usually just move the boxes and furniture had never packed for a company before.
Right there I was a little worried but moving company was supposed to be there in 2 daysâŚ
They had no idea that everything needed to be in a box and tried to put somethings in the basket I had laying out , a tub that was laying out. And said they just moved there things in containers and whatever they could find so they didnât us boxes.
I had to tell them how to pack everything and that it all needed to be in boxes !!!! I had to tell a moving company who packs for a living how todo their job !!!
Fast forward to today where I am finally getting to the garage boxes and I am finding boxes half packed .. one or two things in them. ⌠things breakables thrown in with non breakable things ⌠breakable Christmas ornaments not wrapped and put in there very bottom of a box with things that could have smashed them on top of them⌠these ornaments were not just random ones they were ones my kids had been given every year for Christmas.. ones that canât be replaced.
Breakable things not wrapped and even found somethings like a breakable decoration packed in the bottom of a box not wrapped with things on top that very much can break it⌠things are broken and messed up.
I was being charged by the box by the moving company i hired to moving company I had hired to move us from West Virginia to North Dakota.
Boxes with one or two items in them or just stuff thrown in cost me more money then I should have had to payâŚ
I would absolutely not use this moving company if you want your things packed right...
Read moreI hired Country Roads Moving based on some strong Facebook referrals & it was an excellent decision. My move was a 2BR with not a lot of heavy furniture or appliances but lots of boxes and most importantly my 3 cats. I first was impressed with Jake who is either the owner or manager who at the start asked for photos of all items so he could ensure the estimate was accurate. Iâve used smaller movers before but none have ever taken that step. Jake works like I do: he confirmed just before a few days in advance so I wasnât left wondering if the booking I made a month advance would show up on the big day. The guys were on time & respectful of my requests to keep certain doors shut as I corralled my cats from one room to another. My most high praise is for the one who pitched in when I needed help the most: when time came to load my most precious cargo into my car, my smallest & youngest cat had climbed to the top shelf of a closet & was cowering, terrified to come down. He said he had a large cat himself & was not afraid to help. He was kind & gentle (not to put you on blast, guy but you impressed me) as he put his hand out first so she could ease into it, and I was surprised as he picked her up & she let him without a meow or a claw. This made a usually-stressful situation so much easier for all 4 of us. The move into the new place went quickly and without incident. Overall a great morning when I planned for the worst. The only thing I wish had gone better was mainly due to my poor packing, that not everything made it into the truck when there appeared to be enough room for just a wee bit more. This was random stuff that I did not have fully boxed up.l upon their arrival. But they said no more room, & I ended up making 4 more trips in my little hatchback later that day plus 1 in a friendâs SUV that night. Again I think if I had packed better that would not have happened. Lesson learned. I would definitely recommend Country Roads Moving and would book them if I were making another...
Read moreI truly cannot put into words how amazing this moving company was. I was getting ready to move out of state 8 hours from West Virginia and did not have the help I would need as someone with a disability to move out of my apartment that was all the way on the third floor with no elevator. I was absolutely panicked that I was going to have to get rid of all of my things due to a lack of moving help until I found Country Roads Moving. I was shocked at how cheap the price was considering other options were almost double as expensive and they were able to fit me into their schedule with no problem. I had never utilized a moving company before as my family has always believed in doing these things yourselves so I was not quite sure about how beneficial they would be, but I truly cannot thank these guys enough. The two men who came to move my things out of my apartment got right to work with a smile and absolutely exceeded expectations. Not only did they place my items into my U-Haul in such an organizational and safe matter, but they also got what was estimated to probably be a three hour job done in just two due to their efficiency. I constantly had to ask them if they wanted to take a break because they were working so hard I was astounded and I certainly know continuously climbing up three flights of stairs and moving large items like that is not easy but they continued to push through with no breaks without losing their smiles and professionalism the entire time. I cannot recommend this company enough, and if you were thinking about booking with them, please do you will...
