I don't normally believe in writing negative reviews, but my experience at the Gallery Salon was so disappointing that I can't help but share. I had heard so many amazing reviews about this place so I decided to book an appointment for a blow dry and hair styling session before an important wedding that I had to attend. When I came in for my appointment with Carly, I was greeted brusquely and taken to get my hair washed. While washing my hair, she continuously scratched my scalp with her fingernails and roughly tore apart a few tangles rather than gently combing through them. When she walked me over to start drying my hair I was expecting that she was going to ask me how I wanted to have it styled. It was only after she took out a round brush that had a ton of other people's hair on it that I spoke up and told her I wanted a blow dry with curls like I had requested over the phone. I should also mention that she made absolutely no attempt to speak to me at any time prior to this. When I told her I wanted curls she went and got a curling iron which surprised me because I wanted a blowout with curls rather than a straight blowout with curls added with a curling iron (If that's what I had wanted to do, I wouldn't have come to the salon in the first place as I can blow dry my own hair straight). She proceeded to dry my hair stick straight and then started curling them. I couldn't see what she was doing at any point and she wasn't compelled to show me either. It was only after she was more than half way done with my hair that I took a small portion (barely a few strands) and brought them to the front to see what the curls looked like. When I did this, she yelled at me and told me that my curls would not set if I touched them. When she was done nearly an hour later, my hair looked no differently than if I had air dried it at home. My curls were barely even noticeable, nor were they set properly. 5 minutes after leaving the salon, my hair went back to being stick straight. By the time I returned home, my partner had thought I had skipped my salon appointment because my hair looked no different than when I had left the house. I was so upset by the whole experience that I ended up washing my hair and re-doing it myself. My own blow dry and curls thankfully lasted me the whole night. I don't know if this problem was specifically with Carly because all of the other hair reviews seem to be very positive. All I know is that I wasted $45 and will never return to this establishment. If the customer service I had been given was good, I wouldn't have even cared that my hair was not done well but I am so disappointed on both fronts. Do yourself a favor and don't go here if you've ever had a proper blowout before or if you expect good...
Read moreI am immensely disappointed with the service/lack thereof from this establishment. I’ve been in contact with the associates regarding booking an appointment. Nonetheless, I was dismissed as the associate at this location, added another client during my booked time slot, leaving me with very small time -hence, the stylist stating that she cannot work on my hair as there isn’t enough time. It was grossly unprofessional as I drove an x amount of time to arrive to my booked appointment on time. What frustrated me the most was when I sat in chair and discussed what I wanted and the stylist suggested what was needed for my hair; then she walked from sighed and as she came back, her tune completely changed and started saying how she can’t work on my hair because I wasn’t booked an appropriate timeframe. How is that even possible? During my initial consultation, I explained what I wanted and sent photos of my hair and the inspo hair color I wanted. I specifically asked how long it would take for the treatment, I did all of this to confirm the time and the price range. I was dismissed at first then, when I expressed my disappointment, I was brushed off with a complementary hair treatment, which I did not need nor wanted. It was immensely disappointing to be dismissed and robed of my time and resources to arrive to the appointment and treated with disrespect. The attitude and the lack of accountability made me feel “less than” as I am a minority; this awful experience fills me with revulsion -hence, why I am writing...
Read moreIm in my mid-twenties, and I have never colored my hair, but I KNEW I needed a change. On a whim, I called Gallery Salon and managed to get an appointment that very day! As soon as I entered the door, the staff-specifically Kevin at the front desk- was exceedingly welcoming, and my nerves of wanting a change were immediately calmed. I had an appointment with JLynn (which I was excited about after reading the below review!) and she managed to wade through my babbling about what I had envisioned for my hair (very natural, pretty highlights to give the illusion of thicker hair) and picked out the best color, advised on the best strategic placements to give me the end result I had envisioned, and was very supportive throughout. She asked if I wanted color "here" or "there" and I had to defer to her experience, and my results are phenomenal!! I honestly can't consider going anywhere else- she knew what would work for me and my hair/look, and was able to figure out what I wanted and gave me the PERFECT look. The pricing is better than at the mall (and the service is exponentially better- so I am confused by the negative review below...) and an overall better experience. I not only highly recommend the salon, and of COURSE JLynn, but I cannot wait to go back and try out all of their other...
