Hindsight I should have walked out of the store after hearing the older man speak. However, I put up blinders and decided to take the deal that he offered on the loveseat ($1493 after tax), guaranteed delivery in 3-4 weeks since it was being custom made. 6 weeks in still no couch and I've called for the past 3 weeks and it's always the same thing... "It hasn't shipped but it will be out next week". Well, next week for them must be forever and they even told me to call distribution then. That's not my job. I also don't care if your receipt says no refunds. If I don't get my items that I paid for then that's on you as the company facilitating this.
Going into the store we were already shopping around so we weren't too keen on making a solidified decision yet and if we did we would want something we could take home immediately. We had already been to Rettig across the way and did like some of their options but were trying to fit it into our budget so we decided to hit up Flag City Furniture next.
Immediately walking in (and this is where I should have left) I heard the older man making crude vagina jokes to someone else. "Did I tell you the joke about the two lips"... I brushed it off because we were being helped by someone else, but it already made my wife extremely uncomfortable. Well we ended up having to deal with him anyway and he continued to make off the wall inappropriate jokes, some very borderline racy. Stay far far away from this place.
Edit: In response to the response. I would never lie about something like this, and quite frankly I’m ashamed at myself for not calling this out, and then deciding to support anyway. Again, like I told you over the phone I would go into specific details about what he said because when you hear that stuff it tends to stick with you.
Custom couch or not, it seems the problem lies with distribution which like I’ve stated before, the couch from my understanding is already done, it’s just not being shipped out. That is not my problem. You can’t just not give me something in return for me paying for an item. Looking through the reviews too, it doesn’t seem like this is going to be resolved anytime soon so I’m glad I opened up a...
Read moreNoticed during picking up my Flexsteel sofa and loveseat that it was damaged. I’m pretty sure it was a floor model that was sold as new. The manager “Andi” knew we were taking it to our home in North Carolina. She assured us that she would handle all of the repairs in North Carolina. I should’ve walked away right there.
She hasn’t once returned any of my calls. She told me in November that the material would be delivered by Dec 18. I called back in Feb and was told another 2 weeks. She guaranteed that she would follow up this time. She told me that she hadn’t been getting my messages and that I should only talk to her. Then when I call she can’t come to the phone or return my call. The last time I called I was told that I needed to call Flexsteel.
This is the customer service that you can expect from this place. After reading other reviews I see that others have experienced the same lack luster customer service that I received. I would avoid buying from this place at all cost.
On a side note, when did Ohio stop charging sales tax? I live in NC but picked this up in Ohio. I was given an “out the door” price but that doesn’t have sales tax on it. Is that normal for Ohio?
Update after your review. You knew this set was immediately going to go to NC. You took pictures of the damage and told me directly to my face that you would arrange the repair to be done in my home in NC. The manufacturer didn’t load it into my vehicle. Your store employees did. I do not see how you continue to push the blame onto others. You say I am bashing your store in public. Look at it this way. I gave you 8 months to return a call or do anything that showed you were working to correct a situation that you created. You haven’t returned a single call to me. What do you think a customer should do after spending $7000 on a damaged piece of furniture? Maybe you should’ve told us up front that once we take our furniture home that you wouldn’t be responsible for making the repairs. I’ve seen the same trend in all of your responses. Anyone who states with facts that you do not provide customer service is considered bashing your business. If you did what you say you are going to do you...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars I would... Stay AWAY!.... 1. Their customer service is by far the worst I've ever experienced. We originally ordered a couch and PAID IN FULL Aug 1, 2020 and were told 10-12 weeks. In December after multiple calls to the company (never a proactive call to us from Flag City) we determined the manufacturer went out of business. During this process we were told multiple times by the receptionist that she would follow-up and call us back, which didn't happen. We had to call in to the store multiple times just so they would do their due diligence and realize their supplier was out of business. 2. We were forced to take store credit when they couldn't deliver the original item. Okay understood they couldn't control a manufacturer and gave them the benefit of the doubt. Selected and ordered another couch on January 14, 2021 and were told 8-12 weeks. It is 13 weeks from the second order and we still do not have a couch. Called to check because never once got an update or heard from them on the timing of our order, and was told they'd get an update and call me back within 2 weeks. Never got a call (SHOCKER!). Finally got a response after multiple calls and they said part of the couch was made, but other materials were delayed at manufacturer and they still cannot give us a date. I requested they escalate it with the manufacturer (Why wouldn't they be doing that already on my behalf?). Supposedly, the manufacturer may finish by May 5th. I'm not holding my breath and will be filing a Better Business Bureau complaint in...
