We were in the market for a new sofa and chair. Our research led us to Flexsteel and Rettig. Once in the showroom, I was so overwhelmed and concerned with the fabric and color I was forgetting the most important things. Kelsey was outstanding, I mean over the top amazing at listening to our needs and presenting all available options, she reeled me back in. I have severe arthritis in my back, I was considering a sofa without power lumbar because it was available and I loved the color, it was 2 way power. She walked us over to a sofa, not the color or style we wanted and asked us to just sit in it and try it as she thought it had all the options to suit us, 3 way power…Recline, lumbar, and headrest, BINGO!!! She found Flexsteel (Sawyer) had a sofa and chair in the color, fabric and style we liked with the 3 way power and exact measurements of the one we sat in. However, we would have to order without seeing it and wait 2-3 months. We agreed and she said if we didn’t like it we could return for something else, seriously!! The price was only slightly higher than the one I considered settling with. Had it not been for Kelsey and her over the top concern and listening skills we would have made the wrong decision. Wait, it gets better…after only 6 weeks Kelsey called and our furniture was in!! It was delivered yesterday by 2 very efficient men, Chris and Gavin. They called 1/2 hour before they arrived. They put a magnetic moving cloth/tarp over our front door frame to prevent anything happening to our leather furniture during set-up and delivery. Delivery was seamless and they showed us how to remove backs if ever needed. It is beautiful, the pictures on the Flexsteel website don’t do it justice. The best part, this 3 way power is awesome. Arthritis is real and the lumbar is best decision we’ve made in a long time. I can’t thank Kelsey enough for really listening. She also heard us talking about our potential mattress needs and suggested some things to consider when we’re ready. I have never written a google review, I had to set it up just to write this, however, I couldn’t let this go unnoticed, thank you so much Kelsey…you are a...
Read moreI worked with Jeff Haudenshild. He was awesome!!!! Jeff greeted us at the door with a smile and asked how we were. As I was buying furniture for several rooms, he asked me about my likes,, lifestyle and preferences. He then suggested areas to look in. Jeff helped us get started but then allowed my daughter and I to shop. He checked with us frequently. In fact, he magically appeared whenever we had a question. He willingly check product availability, colors, or price. He helped us through the pros and cons on items and made suggestions for better fits. There was NO pressure! He also suggested several pieces that fit my likes. His knowledge of each piece was very helpful. He chatted with us while writing the order in a friendly manner. Jeff went out of his way to get me the best deal. In fact, I had wanted to sleep on my decisions, So I returned 2 days later to pay for the items. I had shopped for a mattress at Mattress Firm and prior to returning to Rettigs to pay, i went to pay for the mattress with a check. However, their system wouldn't accept my check. They basically wanted me to use their credit. Which I didn't want to do. I made plans with them to come back with cash the next day. I then went to Rettig's to pay, Jeff could see that I was frustrated and asked what was wrong. I explained. He promptly said he could help me. In fact, he helped me find a better fitting mattress for less money. Jeff is very easy to work with, friendly, is able to put customers at ease, knowledge, polite and courteous. As I have more furniture to purchase later this year, I will definitely make plans to...
Read moreADVISORY: I purchased a couch from Van Art Furniture Store (changed to Rettig Furniture and Matress, in the purchase process) in June. It was the honestly the worst furniture experience I have ever had. For the $200.00 delivery fee I could have had it delivered from my favorite store in my hometown! I am just now getting it. It had to been returned because the upholstery color was wrong (more brown than gray). They charge a $100.00 delivery fee. They charged it the first time and again the second time. So an additional $200.00 to the cost of the couch. I chose Van Art because they carry England furniture which is my manufacturer of choice. The lighting in the VanArt Furniture store is very poor, so that contributed to the upholstery color issue. (They now say they have addressed that issue by moving the upholstery samples to the front of the store where it has more natural lighting.) That of course does not help me.They have failed to send me the invoice for the second couch (after asking repeatedly), so I cannot set up my warranty for the second couch with England manufacturer. Makes me think they are hiding something regarding the second couch. Ewald Furniture Store in Tiffin (discovered this to late) carries England Furniture. They charge no delivery fee. They have their upholstery samples in a very well lighted area of the store. The base price is lower as well. I will be going to Ewald in Tiffin...
