Went and sat at a window table. Had this headband on. Was going to sit at a table next to the cook, but decided a nice window seat sounded good. There were 4 tables and 1 at the bar when I entered, 3 done with their service (except maybe a refill)& 2 midway through. My headband has lights that were flashing. I watched the server look at me but avoid eye contact a few times. People came in after me, sat at the bar and were greeted right away and begun service.
I overheard the cook let her know I was sitting at the table and heard the server (long black hair) say, there's plenty of tables and seats around the cook area and that she wasn't serving me over there. She never asked me if I could move, she never said anything to me (yes, Im sure she saw me)
When she went to the table in the corner of the room (2 tables away from me) I said: "excuse me love, is anyone serving the tables?". She comes over all cheery, like that conversation didn't happen 3 minutes earlier with the cook, and says, "oh, (chuckle), yes, I'm sorry, we just had a shift change and I didn't see you.". "What can I get you to drink?"
I told her, that's ok, got up and left.
Just in case she reads this: Your lousy attitude just missed out on a $20 tip....YES, TIP! It's literally a few extra feet and you're serving the customers, they aren't there to serve you. Do...
Read moreSteak, Steak and more Steak. The Waffle House does not cease to disappoint. After leaving the Texas Roadhouse feast that we had in Findlay, and before getting on I-75 to make our way to Michigan, Connie and I needed to stop for coffee and a short meal. We couldn't have found a better spot to eat. Waffle House is a restaurant where you can be yourself.
Unashamed, after my large steak from the Texas Roadhouse, I order a pleasant sandwich that is called the "Texas Angus Patty Melt." Connie wasn't full from her BBQ Chicken and ordered "Bert's Chili." The best thing was, that Todd our server told us to pair our order's with their world famous coffee and waffles.
Unknown to me was that this combination would change the ideas I had about drinking coffee and eating waffles in the afternoon forever. Connie enjoyed the lively conversation with the local "Findlay'ians," and I read my USA Today. We felt like we could relate to the town in all of its glory.
Todd was handsomely rewarded for his expedient service. Also, the bathrooms were immaculate. We had to say goodbye to Findlay at that point, but we know we will be back. We really hope to try Cracker Barrel if we are in Findlay again...
Read moreI have not been to a Waffle House in a long time. It was very busy at the time we went. It was 10:45am Saturday 3/15/2025. This was by far the best experience I've had amongst all restaurants I've been to this year.
We only waited about 5 minutes before they cleared a table for us. After we were seated, our waitress arrived within minutes and asked us for our drinks. We ordered 2 coffees and 2 kids soft drinks. They arrived shortly after. After she gave us our drinks, she took our order. She did not write anything down. She memorized our entire order.
While we were waiting for our food, we started getting low on drinks, but she was right there to provide us with more coffee and soft drinks. She was such a sweet waitress. She even whispered to me if it was ok for the kids to get more soft drinks. I told her yes. She said she just wanted to make sure.
The cooks were amazingly fast, and the food was amazing. Everything was cooked to perfection.
If anyone wants breakfast type meal, head over to the Waffle House in...
