I’ve been selling a few items on eBay, one of them being an old PS2 video game that tends to be pretty glitchy, but still is pretty enjoyable. I’m not a business of any kinds, just selling things I don’t have room for. On February 13, 2025, another eBay account named “retrovgamess”(they have since renamed themselves "regamers") purchased the game from my eBay account for $15, plus $4.14 to cover shipping. The account requested that "Hi Please do not include any invoices, receipts or paperwork inside the package. Also, please test it thoroughly/clean before shipping out. Will leave positive feedback for your efforts. Thank you!"”

So I did as requested. I tested it. I packed it up as safe as I could. and then I sent it out; not too long later, you got the game. I still have the tracking on my eBay account. All was fine and dandy, except I never got that glowing review I was promised. Oh well, nothing lost, I moved on until March 24, 2025 I got a request for a return because the game was apparently defective.

Something felt funny, so I did a Google search.

Turns out Retro V Games is a small business with barely any inventory, so if anybody buys something on their website, they buy cheaply from eBay users have the eBay seller mail it out without ever verifying if the product is in good shape or not, and pocket the difference. Occasionally they’ll even claim things are defective and return actually damaged items and not the good ones, stealing even more money from honest peoples.

Luckily I still had the address of the person I sent the game to. I sent them a very nice letter, and they did in fact respond confirming they never bought the game from me. I've attached photograph of my letter(most has been re-written here) and their photo of the letter as well as the screenshot of the initial purchase on eBay.

So Proof. Lots of it. Don't buy from Retro VGames. Don't sell to them. They are scammers/morally bankrupt drop shippers. Always have been(Yeah I know you were Retrolio Games. Nice try hiding from your past.) No instead, report them to the Federal Trade...

I only bought one thing. And my mystery box came from two separate locations that were not from retro v games. I actually confirmed the addresses are not theirs. The return label says it and I don't know a single person that would play any of these games. Before you read the rest of my review, it was for a mystery box. Now you would assume mystery box and tails. A variety of mystery games that not only the person who's putting them in the box doesn't realize what they're going to have to put in there but I don't know right? Well, I received my box and let me tell you I got less than $20 worth of games. I paid for the most expensive PlayStation 2 box bundle which at the time that I paid for it was about $69 in change. They charged me $10 just for the boxes to the games and I received singing games. I received hockey games, one of which was valued at a dollar I believe wholeheartedly. These guys are a scam. Both boxes that I got had scratched games in them which I get that if it's going to be used it's going to be scratched but you need to put mystery box, used games, mystery box bundle, variety of singing games or b* hockey games like no offense but mystery means variety. Mystery means different things. Mystery means mystery but for whatever reason when I contacted them they seemed to know exactly what was going to be in my boxes before they were even sent out. So in my opinion these people know exactly what they're doing and they are trying to pull one over on everybody that they possibly can. I'm probably not going to play any of these games and I'm probably not going to get my money back, especially since I tried to contact them about returning them and I have not gotten an email back from them...

TL;DR

Customer service is amazing, helped me get exactly what I wanted.

Console came in perfect condition, way better than I expected for an older device.

Received it 4 days after I placed the order. I live in Philadelphia, PA and one of their warehouses is in Allentown, PA so I think that’s why I got it so soon.

I wanted a Black 3ds(the new version with colored buttons) so before I placed my order I reached out to customer service(a few times via text and email, I was impatient) to see what could do. I spoke with Alan, Alex and Brian, they all were very professional and they kept it real with me. They didn’t make any guarantees that I could get the color I wanted but they promised that they’d do their best to inform the warehouse of my color preferences. They kept their word because four days after placing my order, I received exactly what I wanted. A black 3ds in perfect condition, both screens look crystal clear, all the buttons feel new and there’s literally no...
