If given a choice, I would not rate my horrific experience even a one star! Overcooked bacon on jalapeño poppers - way overcooked bacon - far TOO crisp - to the point of having black on meat - I specifically requested to have 6 poppers cooked, done, but not to point of being burned. The first batch was more burned than the ones remaining in the display case, so I asked they be redone. Much to the chagrin of two employees, they placed a second order for me. Why does an employee appear frustrated when a paying customer, who helps with his/her salary, requests a food item be prepared to the customerâs satisfaction and is not willing to take an item in any sloppy condition handed to him/her? I wonder if âthe secondâ boat of poppers was really still the first one being brought out as though it was a redo? My thinking is that a businessâs first priority is to its paying customers and not to the cooksâ âtake what I fixed and like it!â. The previous owners would personally oversee the remaking of a product and make certain it was cooked correctly and to the customerâs satisfaction (Fortunately, that only happened twice). We were always regular customers of D-Booneâs because of their excellent food quality and customer service; however, because of the lack of both in this transfer of ownership, we have rarely gone, and I will not ever spend another nickel inside this new establishment. I understand the bacon needs to be cooked at a certain temperature, but it does not need to be OVERcooked. At least D-Booneâs cooked them perfectly and yummy well - not burned - not raw! Additionally, I ordered a small dinner salad which consisted of shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and a small amount of cheese. Quick and easy, right? Shouldnât have been, but ⊠! My husband was served his roast beef, green beans, corn, and roll, and two customers behind me received their to go orders before I received my salad. Definitely not a pleasant evening! Definitely not customer service oriented! Even the money refunded for my poppers and small dinner salad orders does not make up for the inexcusable...
Read moreFormerly called D. Boones (We'll always call it Boones, even with the new name, which I personally don't care for). They recently changed the name, put up a new sign, and new owners operate the business now.
They have a dining section for the café and a separate section for the store. The convenience store stocks most things any convenience stores carry, and there are a variety of items on their menu in the café. There is no table service, unfortunately. You order at the counter for your meal/food. And they serve everything on Styrofoam plates, etc.
Lately, customer service has been hit or miss. The staff isn't as friendly as it used to be.
I stop by numerous times throughout the week to grab a bite or just to snag something from the store. Their fuel prices run high, a lot higher than other places, so don't be surprised when filling up. Generally, I ONLY gas up there if...
Read moreGreat spot for a meal. Above par C-store dining with meals cooked to order from burgers to the pot roast special. They always have fresh sweet tea and regular tea as well as fountain drinks. They have breakfast, lunch and dinner options at affordable prices.
The dining room is quite large which is great. There are far too many restaurants that are tiny with crammed seating, this is not one of them. When you walk in your not walking in and standing there with whole dining room staring at you. Also, they keep it very clean and tidy in the store and restaurant.
Every time we visit Buddies the staff are friendly and attentive and we really enjoy that. You can place your order and enjoy it quietly or stir up conversation with the staff. Everyone is very friendly and I...
