Formal Complaint Regarding Misrepresentation and Defective Radio Purchase
Dear Viking CB Radio Shop,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my dissatisfaction and address a concerning issue related to my recent purchase of a Ranger RCI-69FFB6 from your establishment in Fontana, CA.
On [date], I invested $1,180 in acquiring the mentioned radio, which was subsequently installed by your team. Regrettably, within a week, the radio ceased to transmit. Upon seeking assistance from another CB shop and directly contacting Ranger CB, I was informed that the unit in question is a used and remanufactured radio, not covered under warranty.
This revelation starkly contrasts the information provided by Viking CB, where I was assured that the radio was brand new and accompanied by a 1-year warranty. Subsequent attempts to address this issue with your representatives have been disheartening. One of your associates suggested that I shouldn’t “cry over spilled milk” and that there are no guarantees regarding the outcome of an inspection.
As a truck driver, the inconvenience of scheduling an appointment only to find your shop closed added to the frustration of this experience. Given the discrepancy in the information provided at the time of purchase and the subsequent refusal to honor the alleged warranty, I am left with no option but to involve my bank in resolving this matter.
I believe in fair and transparent business practices, and this situation has left me with a sense of dissatisfaction and financial loss. I trust that you will take this matter seriously and address it promptly to rectify the misrepresentation and provide a satisfactory resolution.
Sincerely,
F. Woodard Respond to...

I know this radio is old and had a lot of people in it that shouldn't have been and it has quite a few issues when I dropped it off and told the technician what I would like to have fixed he didn't even write anything down. After leaving it there for over a week it came back with one of the issues mostly repaired when I asked the technician if you tested the finals he said yes claimed they were putting out a certain amount of wattage and he obviously did not the numbers are nowhere near what he claimed also the parts they said they replaced I'm not so sure I do know I was lied to and there was really no attempt to address any of the issues I asked forAlso there are many screws left loose inside the radio that hold another PCB board in place the ground wire that connects to the power switch is obviously ripped out and hanging by a thread if it wasn't done there you would think they would have noticed it and put a dab of solder on The wire Terraria attach it just bums me out I paid money to have nothing really done not one thing was...
Read moreCame here fully intent on buying a $720 c.b. They sell, full disclosure I planned to take to a different shop to have it set up but they didn’t know that, so went inside lady said hi but before I could tell her what I wanted the phone rang and for the next 15 min she was speaking Spanish to someone on the phone. During that time other employees came and went, one stood behind the counter messing with a notebook but never so much as made eye contact with me. So thank you Walcott Radio for doing a great tune on the radio I ordered and had...
